UHQR 45rpm Steely Dan---7 early titles---announced last week--ordered them all.

When it comes to musical taste I have no doubt I'm in a very small minority, but I wouldn't mind seeing what other titles are available.

Isolation Question- getting low frequency feedback

Try moving your TT away from the sound of your speakers (another room, for example) or build a temporary sound proof enclosure for it. A lot cheaper than scraping your current TT project.

Must not be very important to anyone here.

You’re right. Sorry. I live near Los Angeles.

    Audio feedback

People here have some amazing systems. I'll assume they take their sound seriously. When I was digitizing some vinyl once, during a very quiet passage I could hear people in the room talking. It was coming through the cartridge into my headphones. In an earlier thread I related steps my father...

    Tonearm height & SRA misconception

I just replaced the cart on my Music Hall 9.1. If I knew someplace where I could have it set up properly, I'd pay the money. I don't, and I don't want to ship.

Another should I add vinyl thread

I digitize my vinyl so I can play it in the car. No, I don't have a high end car system. Plus the music I listen to is noisy, to say the least. I have a Music Hall MMF 9.1 and a recently replaced Denon DL-103R cart. It doesn't break the bank. I am using a center weight and periphery clamp...

    Vinyl sleeves

I’ve been pulling and tossing my MoFi sleeves due to a haze they are leaving on the discs. I started a thread on this a while back and apparently this is more common than one may suspect.

RCM's are dead, hire this guy instead !

Not really my preferred method for cleaning a record but in the past I have run them under a faucet, dish soap etc. In Thailand my bro in law gave me some records. One 45 rpm was so bad I had to pull it off the tt as quickly as I could. It looks more destroyed by 1/4 lb VTF than dirty. I may...

Found new open box KL Audio Record Cleaner on sale

You say you've had both. I'd be interested in your comments on them and why you prefer one over the other.

Found new open box KL Audio Record Cleaner on sale

I see it's been discontinued, a great reason to buy it and save money. It says no special cleaners or detergents. Does that mean it uses only distilled water? I only ask because I wouldn't rule out buying one myself.

    MFSL inner sleeves

Short follow-up, I heard back from MFSL. They said they had a few other reports of this and it is most likely excessive humidity or some such nonsense. They obviously didn't read or ignored my message when I pointed out it's only their sleeves that are offending. I wouldn't expect much more...

    Record Cleaning Machines

Out of my entire collection I probably have about 200 units that need a thorough cleaning. Some are quite valuable. I know there are people who deep clean brand new LP's but I don't really think it's necessary. If anyone knows of a service that will clean LP's, in a nice , ultrasonic machine...

    MFSL inner sleeves

As I said, I use a cheap, Allsop Orbitrac to give my records a quick wipe. I use an 80/20 distilled water/alcohol mix and it comes right off. Not like it’s etching them. I sent a message to MFSL about this. We’ll see what they say, if they reply at all. Also, I’ve used some generic inners and...

    MFSL inner sleeves

I purposely left the glare to accentuate the issue. Again, it cleans right off and leaves a shiny new surface, but this is still bad news, I think.

    MFSL inner sleeves

One more thing; I like these inner sleeves because some LP’s use shiny card stock for inners and the static grabs hold and won’t let go. I suppose I’d settle for an acid-free paper if it didn’t have a hole in it. First world problems.

    MFSL inner sleeves

I can’t say 100% that it is on all of them, but the sleeves that are about 5 years old, aim noticing it there. At 40 cents per, that’s around $1000. Kind of sucks to waste them but I like my records more.

    MFSL inner sleeves

I've placed pretty much my entire collection in these, 2700 or so discs. When I pull a disc out to play it I see a sort of haze on it. It isn't smooth over the entire disc, it looks like a wrinkled sleeve "off-gassing" for lack of a better term. It cleans right off when I use an Orbitrac and a...

New to Vinyl - A lot of questions

I have some records I’ve played that weso quiet I was amazed. I once bought a new sealed disc a while back, played one side and sold it back to the (small indie) record store where I bought it. It was from a huge label and the band is world famous. It was also loaded with artifacts to the point...

A very cheap but extremely effective tweak for records’ static

I played a record the other day, digitized it actually, and it was so quiet I sent a note to the label complementing them on such a fine pressing. Quiet passages and between tracks it sounded great and the waveform confirmed it. I have a Zerostat but don't use it much because I don't see static...

    Periphery and spindle clamps

Ok, I get that it may sound like a dumb question, especially here. I’m asking because I saw a pic of a $21,000 phono cart in action and the owner used a spindle clamp but there was no periphery/ring clamp. For that kind of cheese I figure the mfr. should have thrown one in for free, that is if...

turntables; high level anti-resonance----active (Herzan) platforms, Minus K, air bladder (Stacore) platforms, or others?

I see very expensive systems and the turntable is only a few feet from the speakers. I digitize my albums into lossless wav files. Once I was doing this while wearing headphones and during a quiet passage I could hear my wife's voice through my headphones as she was talking on the telephone. I...

    Periphery and spindle clamps

The periphery clamp weighs 2.6 lb. and the spindle clamp weighs 1.7lb. It securely grabs the spindle. I've been using them on my Music Hall 9.1. I'm curious if there's any one here who doesn't use them or believes they don't offer much improvement. I only ask because some here have the very...

You're being interviewed by the news from home. What's your backdrop?

Probably my LP collection. It's housed in a custom mahogany shelving system, stacked 8' long, 12" wide. Kind of a homogenous background that won't detract. If someone wants to steal them, they'd better bring a lot of muscle.

    Cork mats

I believe my Music Hall has an acrylic platter, quite thick. I’ll investigate some of the replies here. Thanks for the input.

    Cork mats

Both my TT's have what I can describe as a fibrous mat that sticks to the record when I lift it. Are cork platter mats any good? What do the experts here recommend? I use peripheral and spindle clamps.
