Thanks for the thoughts. It does make sense. The VPI is great but I have to keep it in the basement and don't use it when my wife is around. I am thinking it would be nice to have one easy to use and leave around.

That is very interesting. Perhaps you might have some thoughts. I have a VPI 17.5 that has worked flawlessly for many years. I bought an early version of the Audiodesk and it worked well, for about 400 cleans. It is clearly not designed to be worked (though my business partner was able...
Delighted it’s back to your liking. I do leave it on all the time now. I was lucky enough to have Ed Meitner and his crew over last week to our audio club. They make great equipment.
I thought of not replying as you clearly have quite a dislike, and I respect that but I will beg to disagree. I was almost going to get out of vinyl, after 45 years, this really revitalized my interest. I was not joining any club, and any of my friends, musical or audiophile, have been...
That's interesting. I have played a little with this, mostly by accident, and I have not noticed an enormous amount of difference but that may just be my lack of hearing :)
I won't suggest that anyone can be wrong, its merely opinion. I have always looked for 'natural' presentation that conveys emotion. The Grand Master has done that better than any source I have had in my system or heard in others. But just my two cents. I think if you are considering optical...
I bought their interconnects many years ago and liked them a lot. Herr Strassner was always very helpful when there were any questions. Glad to hear the power cables are good too.
Of interest here is a review of the Emm labs DS-EQ1. I would concur completely

I have also heard the DS-EQ2 and it is phenomenal at its price.
Well done.
Interesting - I have an old Serotta - built for me a long time ago (16 years). I am still very fond of it, but my newer bike is an Open Up, it is remarkable and by far my favorite. I do ride 38 tubeless so only 40 psi, but it is astounding on the modest roads we have where I live.
An interesting post, and I will just chime in on the last comments, I agree completely with wider tires. I have an Open Up and have moved from 28mm to 38 running at 40 psi. I can't keep up with the fastest aerobikes, but who cares. I just finished riding with chap who had the newest...
Understand completely. I am sorry to hear you have not put it in yet, but life is just like that. I often find, somewhat reassuringly, that life has many aspects other than audio, keeps things in perspective . Let us know.
fbhifi I am by no means an expert, but my impression was the Emm labs is brilliant in the upper end and mid range, and very solid in the bass. It is extremely natural, if I can use the term, and artists that I have heard in person seem like they are almost in the room (actually in the room in...
Beautiful. Remarkable really. Looks like a torus subwoofer. What amps are you using, if you don't mind me asking. If you ever get a chance to listen to the EMM labs DS-Eq1, do so. Its quite fascinating the difference between it and the DS audio. Both are great but somewhat different. A...
Thanks for sharing that. That is a remarkable demo and fascinating as that is exactly the track that convinced me to get the Grand Master as well. I had actually thought I was done with vinyl. I have a more modest system but the guitar solo is simply remarkable on the Grand Master. Of...
I have had the chance to listen to the DS 003 on a number of occasions (including today) in a friends system I have listened to for many hours over the last 20 years and compare it to the Grand Master ( through the EMM DS-EQ1). It is startlingly good. It has many, many of the virtues of the...
I recently compared my Grand Master to my previous setup Ortofon MA 90 and Tom Evans Groove+ SRX. The Grand Master sounds remarkably natural, at least to my ears, but with the amazingly black background. The unit has operated flawlessly. The EMM DS-EQ1 works superbly, is superbly built...
