give Enrico at Vyda cables a call, he will handbuild a silver phono cable for you to evaluate and if you like it, keep it.
I found his cables very natural sounding and reasonably priced.
Hi Russ, thanks for sharing your great experience with the Westminster Lab DC cable. Truly sorry to hear what you have been through and wish you a speedy recovery!
I‘m excited as my Westminster lab DC cable will arrive soon for my newly acquired Lumin X1, will report my findings soon. In the...
Well, theoretically, every single part along the chain deteriorates the sound, just a matter of magnitudes.
So are you willing to give up on pre-amp/power amp for an integrated? How about Step-up transformer? And DSP? As the impact of those added circuits, interconnects and powercords is...
That’s ok Mike, actually you were right about people’s intention of asking for opinion. I’ve realized that asking around for opinion before purchase is just to seek for recognition from others, in other words you buy it sooner or later. Therefore I seldom seek for opinions now, if really want...
Hi Mike, didn’t expect you saw this and replied here. No, you are so wrong, I‘m nobody so there’s no point to “reveal myself” :p. Anyways just some random rumbling we are all good here.
I’m still a big fan and love Analogplanet because I understand what you’ve been telling people about vinyl...
Read it again and it made me laugh every time.
Since when sending an email to someone you admire seeking for opinion is considered “rude”??? And the email starts with “I’m a long term loyal reader and absolutely love your column. Did I mention any ”expectation”? No….you can just ignore if you...
LOL, yes of course, you are absolutely right sir.
It’s always your fault, NOT mine. Applause!!
As I said, it’s okay if you just IGNORE?? That’s totally understandable.
Point taken Sir. Well maybe it was not that long, definitely not longer than your 2 posts combined together…:)
I just wanted to give a bit more information about my situation so that opinions can be specific. When I got pmed asking for opinion about gears, I prefer a bit more information about...
No Bonzo, that’s not the point.
I was upset not because he didn’t read/answer my questions, I can totally understand if he just ignored my email and didn’t reply at all.
I was upset because there were so many ways of replying an email that can add value and be helpful, even as simple as “ I...
I once emailed Mr. Fremer asking for his opinion about a potential “turntable upgrade”, that was a long email with lots of info about my vinyl gear and why I was contemplating an upgrade.
And the mighty Mr. Fremer replied with only one sentence: “Zanden’s EQ curve recommendations are insane and...
It is always fun to read about your system update Mike, especially on vinyls ;)
BTW I’m testing Etsuro’s own SUT ET-U50 which is not that highly spoken of, IMHO SUT+MM input is significantly better than the MC input of CSport phono.
After living with CSport for a while, I can say I’m very happy with the purchase!
First of all, CD is gone, abandoned…I‘ve decided to go with vinyl only as I don’t want to waste time on digital should I want to enjoy hi-fidelity music. Maybe adding a decent streamer later for new music...
I used to own most of the SOTA headphones on the market, after switching to speakers sold most of them…
Now I love my Airpods Max at home and AirPods Pro on the road, don’t need anything more than that for headphones. :)
I have both CSport and DS, they do a similar job in terms of performance however CSport has the edge on practicality. Its adjustable stand allows it to go with most of TTs, whereas DS audio is hard to implement for some TTs, especially those large square shaped ones.
Hi folks, I would like to share my recent pleasant experience with Vyda cables.
Vyda was referred by well-known member Gian here, who’s a very hard-core audiophile and got high standard for every product that passes through his hand. In the meantime he’s also a very nice guy who likes sharing...
Just to make your decision even harder, Troy NG‘s powercord is exchangeable, and a better powercord makes a significant improvement as I heard it myself in the showroom :p
Hi Lloyd, the bass is one of the biggest improvement. Or should I say the density and energy get vastly improved, as everything gets more body and 3 dimensional, therefore sounds more “real”, if the original troy sig allows me to hear all the details the troy sig NG allows me to “see” the stage...
Just got the Troy signature NG for a few days and all I can say is that it is a huuuge step up over the original troy signature, the transparency, energy, expansive soundstage and fluidity is simply addictive!
Would like to try Entreq sometime but the footage of the big ones are not space...
Hi Bill,
It’s just I’ve never seen them underneath TTs, and they don’t fit into my tables so I haven’t got a chance to try out myself.
Something square shaped like a 1200s or firebird may be worth trying.
Michael
I don’t know my friend, it’s impossible to compare wadax to “any alternative“… however that’s where the Wadax combo is supposed to be given the price asking right?
For transport and DAC I do have a strong preference to NOT to mix and match. For example, when you mix let‘s say a CH transport...
oh I see what you mean now, my apology. From memory, Wadax server sounds better than JMF transport feeding the wadax dac. But that‘s as expected as the wadax combo are made together, and the optical connection are optimized for each other.
I did a direct comparison of wadax trio, CH C1 and JMF...
