Absolutely have to agree, incredible machines, very unique. The Takumi K-70 with its three chassis layout, military power plugs for the 430V DC umbilical cords to separated left/right channels, I mean, who does that and neon lights power indicators?, the panel work, the anti-traditional use of...
Very impressed with my amps., the Koda gear gripping and concise while delivering, really, some of the finest natural amplified playback I have experienced.
Actually that first photo I provided above, while this is all my current work-in-progress rigging here in BrizVegas, Oz, I have both my...
That's not how to set up a Robert Koda rig, this is.
Cop no. 1, engraved "Top End Beast", in the corner. Takumi K-70 backing the grey K-10.
Lovely, lovely outfit, AE, enviable.
I hope WE reissues weren't completely dismissed outhand. Maybe due to suggestions? Maybe a quick search was made for sellers? A mild interest otherwise? Otherwise this might read as "bought chinese tubes because the WE reissues are not as good as WE 70's and unders".
There's some sort of mass...
Ignore this sort of entry. The reissues were Fantastic! tubes and would be more than likely all listeners' favourites out of the list of tubes listed on this post by Bozzo. Truly great tubes albeit a fizzled effort to restock the world due to dwindling WE 300B's, as I guess they closed again...
It was mentioned first on page one, but have you considered a gander at the Gryphon Diablo? Know nothing about its latest guise but the original was simply musical and very capable. Their design aesthetics are to be admired as well. Save you a LOT of change from 20k if you found a pristine 2nd...
Lovely pre you're looking at there.
Apparently a lot to do with 4.0 op amps vs 4-2 discrete circuit, the details of which I am untrained to enter into.
Don't know if Lyra still support the 4's. I think there was even a 4.0 to 4-2 upgrade once. They certainly both carry the same outward design...
Here, this is a shot of this year's resident carpet python that daily sun bakes and particularly when full with two food bulges as in this shot in this same position just 6 -7 metres from my K-70.
Wonder what was eaten. The amp's. safe.
Yeah, wouldn't this be divine!
The K-10 already being so fine, the K-15 is surely something Rob worked hard at to be better and with hardware to match with dream coincident rows of SE and balanced for each input. A very nice utilitarian addition.
Apparently quite a substantial presentation.
Jeffy, thanks. Me?
Umm, broad, probably very broad, reach of tastes. A lot of metal lately but oddly returning to some of my early 90's roots in industrial chaos like Fushitsusha and Zeni Geva as the Japanese take on this genre was exceptional. For instance today I pulled up some Gorgoroth, but...
Mr. Frech, haha, it's been a while.
I was, of course, hoping in this time lag you would have already been giving us your impressions of your K15.
As it slaughters the performances of all comers.
What the ... ?
My own experience with passives is a Music First "Classic" (why, oh why, do manufacturers continue to turn to this word for a name ...), a very little box with beautifully hand-wound transformers and simply tap their coils at measured steps taking volume control instructions from the user when...
Without hesitation I can say it is one of the greatest amplification units ever built. Unwaveringly capable.
I am the proud owner of 10% of the world's stock of this machine.
What greatness to come from this young proficianado.
Yep, the K-15 has been a rumour for only a little while, though hardly a rumour as there had been several orders for it already from Robert Koda 'base' fans as mentioned above, but it was recently officially announced on the Robert Koda website.
It promises to be quite a unit.
Best of luck...
Tunes, you'll most likely find in this forum not too many Folk either that know much about Robert Koda. Robert started up in 2008 just as America and Europe were melting (I thought he had the biggest balls of all! To be starting a top-shelf audio brand at that moment) and making in-roads to...
