Great piece by Roy about the building blocks of a CH System. Those T1 users seem to appreciate it on Chamber music. In Roy's piece it seems that with the addition of an X1 to the T1, that the system improves for other types of music (Jazz, Rock, Electronic). What have T1/X1 users experienced...
Shipping the Nagra T is a challenge. I've used a pick and pluck foamed pelican case specifically to do this, so far, with good results. Guessing you did something of the same Steve, if you sent three units back and forth to Doc B safely.
Nagra switzerland will do a full refresh on a IV-S or T-Audio.
If it’s something simple, Forrest Forbes in CA may be able to help. While there is no current authorized service tech for Nagra in NA, I know Forrest is still servicing Nagras.
Hi Ralph,
Thanks for the updated information regarding the Ethernet HD card.
Sounds exciting!
Clearly this is especially awesome for Roon users. For non-room users, are there further improvements over the previous ethernet card in other ways? I see a mention in another member post earlier in...
Agree with Ralph. HD upgrade, followed by X1 power supply, followed by powercord upgrade on X1. I have ended up with Shunyata Sigma power cords on my CH components, after having used Kubala Sosna Emotion cords previously.
The TAS folks were all impressed with the Zellaton Statements. Harley saying “The Zellaton Statement loudspeaker (see JV’s report for system details) created the most realistic reproduction of the human voice I’ve ever heard from a hi-fi system. The sound was ineffably beautiful, seemingly...
Some additional info regarding the new updated C1/D1 HD boards and HD link from CH.
“The upgrade is simple to perform. The HD boards replace the current ones. The HD boards fit inside the unit in the slot previously used by the current boards. A firmware update has to be performed to enable the...
Thanks to those folks that have shared thoughts and pics from Munich for those of us that couldn’t attend.

Along with others in the thread, I agree with the thoughts of this reviewer - AArts is a musical oasis in NYC

Nice report of your visit. When Gideon had the Zellaton Statements in and had just received a pair of Stenheim Fives, I was able to drop in for a visit. I did the opposite order to you, we started with the Fives and then moved to the Statements. As you noted, both are outstanding, but the...
Hi Gian
I’ve not tried the silver cables but I’m very happy with the copper ones. Running several pairs of interconnects and their speaker cables. Would be interested to hear the silver cables but from my understanding, there are very few that have made it to NAmerica.
As Ralph has noted, firmware updates available last week.
The CH app has also had a second update a voupke of dsys ago.
CH noted that:
“The new firmware revision package mainly deals with the introduction of the T1 clock generator and the C1 Mono units. There is some unification brought in the...
I updated last month as well. One of the additional features for the CH App users is that the unit icons glow red when power up. If they hlow orange, that indicstes that there is a new firmware update available. Like others, i appreciate the visual cue or date so it is known that we can update...
GLWS Murray. The L1 is an anazing preamp.
As far as i understand, the units are all configurable for different voltages. I’m sure CH can confirm what is required by way of switch selection on the rear and appropriate fuses.

Hi Ron,
Having had the chance to hear several differing Zellaton setups at RMAF (not Munich yet however) and at Audioarts, I would highly recommend dropping in to the Manhattan studio. It is a great listening room space and the Zellaton Statements that I heard there recently were sounding...

I use a full CH system and would concur with what both Ralph and Gian have noted. To me, the system is not lean or analytical. It is well-balanced with great transparency and full midtange and deep but not bloated bottom end.
Best
Chris
Ralph,
Like you, I have also not heard the zell ref 2 but have heard several other speakers in thr lineup and have loved their performance, the statements were spectacular. I will be interested to read Valin's full review of what he experienced.
VPN,
I haven't tried a sonic comparison but have my CH units on HRS nimbus footers.
Very satisfied with the result. I tried stacking my X1 unit with spikes but one of the four spikes was slightly loose and would rattle so i removed them altogether and run the units that way.
I have not tried the...
I've uploaded a video of an electronic music track that I brought with me to demo when I had a visit to NYC earlier this Spring.
It's 7 minutes and recorded on my crappy iPhone. Sounded off the wall incredible in the room. Sorry bout the first 10 seconds of talking...
As per Jack's post, i agree that there are not alot of discussion posts about electronic music on WBF.
Re Zellaton's, yes, they are capable of deep, tight bass and will pressurize large rooms when set up right.
Not sure if you are a fan of Dave DK from Berlin, but I brought a bunch of tracks...
