Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi, there can be big fluctuation in the quality of electricity during the day at festivals due to the venue. Have you actually tried to measure it throughout a day?

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Hi Emile and EuroDriver, What are the other two cards sandwiching the sfp fiber card? You put the fiber card in the 4th slot from CPU1. What's the idea behind it? Would it be in a different slot if it was connected to a NAS/switch or to a DAC? Thanks

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Waiting for internal pictures and more specific technical details on mb/cpu, I propose a game trying to guess what CPU the SGM Extreme is using. I restricted my choice to 4 CPU models: INTEL® XEON® PROCESSOR E5-4620 V4 INTEL® XEON® PROCESSOR E5-4610 V4 INTEL® XEON® PROCESSOR E7-4820 V4 INTEL®...

The 1st SGM Server EVO Edition in Hong Kong

As a friend of Ed and Geoff, I have suggested them to try the following GentooPlayer OS. It's Gentoo based like Daphile therefore Linux which, in their view, created a compatibility problem in their customer base. The OS developed at Nexthardware.com has 64bit versions w/out GUI and for...

This is something I had already decided doing for my next PC system and totally agree with. If it's allowed to know, which fibrechannel PCI do you go for? Which Intel cpu are you mounting?

Best DACs comparison test result [[My Subjective Opinion]]

Hi Esotar, As I already kindly asked you on CA, if you care to do a recording through your Line-IN (as I explained on CA), I can do a proper objective test for you between the DACs' outputs and the original music, then I will publish the results for everybody.

USB versus Ethernet - a study reveals the winner

Yes, I am aware of it. MSB already has an I2S input with clock in the DAC. I am not sure if this latest one is actually available yet. Anyhow, I dislike proprietary solutions.

USB versus Ethernet - a study reveals the winner

Personally, when I see so many "solutions" - like fiber converter, USB reclocker/cleaner, Ethernet receiver (a small PC inside a DAC), audiophile switches,... -, I think they are all patched up jobs or simply temporary arrangements. I welcome LAN audio distribution. IMHO, a good, possibly...

DACs that excel at DSD playback (other than Lampi GG)?

DACs that excel at DSD playback (other than Lampi GG)?

Also Playback Designs DACs can be added. They always had a good reputation for DSD. I liked their MPD-5 in DSD. Dream DAC coming out soon but perhaps too expensive. Merlot DAC

Pacific dac: Lampizator's new top of the line dac

OK. This is just a speculation on my side - if it is similar to what I've got, it may have different, better XOs and a new PS, together with a redesign.

Pacific dac: Lampizator's new top of the line dac

The Amanero of course is OEM, but here we are talking of a "super Amanero" which is an updated component that does not come from Amanero. A few designers have developed "tweaked" versions of Amanero USB receiver and that is what I was referring to.
