So, now Yamamura System is gone i am using Apologue at their place. I am changing different components to set up all. :)

    Tonearm ranking

Hi Ked. I think it is very difficult to answer (especially to the first point). When i use a tonearm on a turbate with a cartridge and i find it is very good in a system, i am not really sure i will have (for some aspects) the same result with another system (when i say system i mean: hifi...

    Ikeda Cartridges esp 9Gss

Hi Howiebrou, have you listened the 407 with old Ikeda 9 (no cantilever)? It is, like all DPS, amazing in dynamics (but hard to set). :)

Tonearm Setup: Effective Mass, Inertia, and Sound

Changing the position of the conterweight will of course change the Inertial moment so also the FR of tonearm/cartridge and the sound will change (then we will choose the one we prefer). Anyway the closer the conterweight will be to the pivot, the less inertial moment we will have.

    Ikeda Cartridges esp 9Gss

Yes, it is not easy to set up also because it is a cartridge that in some version has a weight of 22/24 grammi and works well with a weight between 2/4 grams (and it takes a long time to find the best). There is also the problem of the very low output (0.04mV) and if there is any magnetic...

Dereneville - linear scanning of the grooves

I listened the first combination in Munich MOC 2018 with Tedeska cartridge. Difference between the Derenville and SME was important even if on SME a more expensive cartridge was used. :)

Imai San ( Audio Tekne ) home

Yes. He is very kind. I remember when he came to visit me at my home with is son and wife, he was so kind (he gave to my wife some japanese cakes) and absolutely with a not invasive approach. :)

Tonearm Setup: Effective Mass, Inertia, and Sound

Pay attention to declared compliance. 8Cu at which frequency? Usually Japanese producer declare their compliance at 100 Hertz, so at 10 Hertz real compliance could be much higher (around 15/16 cu). So the RF of the system could be around 8/8.2 Hertz. To verify i think could be helpful a test...

    Alsyvox planars...prepare to sell your Magico's, YG's, Wilson's, Cessaro's. Maggie's, and all others!!

I heard in Munich (during the MOC) 2018 at the Marriott with Omega Audio Concept (another Italian factory) the last version of these speakers. IMO they have changed a little in 7 years, but not so much (with the new version, i think they have a little improved the medium bass) and in the MOC...

    Alsyvox planars...prepare to sell your Magico's, YG's, Wilson's, Cessaro's. Maggie's, and all others!!

These speakers were Made in Italy. I heard first version about 7 Years ago in a recording studio (during a demonstration) near Treviso/Venezia, after at designer house followed by other occasions during Italian fairs (and also again at the designer house). Their original name was Leonardo. They...

For that test in Yamamura system yes (as the Fm 122 MKII is MM). Of course changing the Kondo load imput (as JA suggest a charge arond 800 Ohm, but also with 500 Ohm i don't remark differences). After i did the same test in Yamamura system with (like with all others )i used the Goldmund PH3.8. :)

I own the Jan Allaerts MC2 Formula 1 in the system with Yamamura speakers i use the Monaco GP audio with Graham Phantom II, Kondo 6 trasformare + FM Acoustic 122 MKII phono MM + Preamplifier mono line Yamamura. Using the differenti cartridges i have in the different systems i have, i have made...

When you say separation, you mean the separation between the two channels? In this case i think that my JA has better separation than my ZYX. ZYX has a deeper image more detached and between the speakers. JA as an image more on speakers. It could be interesting, i think, if you have speakers...

For me and used in my systems, ZYX and Audio Note IO LTD are unbeatebles on classical Records. Kondo IOM and J. Allarts MC2 F1 are real near and i think they are really a very good alternative to the first two). If i look to dynamics on single instrument (piano, violin etc), Ikeda can easily...

With my english it will be not easy to make me understandable... The Ikeda is very dynamic, difficult to make it well tracking, and with a "voice" that i can't think neutral. I think it can be difende by the word: Wilderness. It speaks more to heart than to brain and makes strong sensations in...

I try to explain but probably, as my english is not good enough i will not be able to do. I like these two preamps very much. I feel they have increased by far the final result of the whole system. Better impression to "be there" and the general feeling is that everything has the right voice...

Sàkuma 300B/845 replace Kondo Gakuon 845. It seems to me they have more dynamics and materic sound and a little less finesse on very high frequencies. :)

ZYX Diamond vs Jan Allaerts MC 2 Formula One
