Hi Tang
The gain on the Nagra VPS is 34db. An additional 15db is available that I never use with the SS gain stage. All this works beautifully coz the CJ GAT pre has 26 dB gain

Hi Gian
I am close to completing 2 years with a black Lyra Erodion mated to an Etna SL. TBH the combo of the Lyra Erodion and a Lyra SL cart is truly special and spectacular , YMMV. In my not so humble opinion :), there is no better match on this planet for a Lyra SL cart !!
Looking forward to...
Hi Ked
The Ortofon 309D has a Lyra Pipe with a din cable. If you mean trying a Lyra cart with the Ortofon arm I had the Atlas mounted on it sometime back. I achieved superior results mounting the Atlas on the Talea 2 which is not surprising as it’s a way better arm.
Currently intrigued whether I...
Hi Gian
I have the Lyra Phonopipe servicing 2 of my arms ie Durand Kairos with Etna SL and a Ortofon 309D with a Miyajima Madake. In addition all cable runs between both my two SUTs and the phonostage are Lyra Phonopipes.
Extremely happy with the results. One of the Lyra Pipes is in rehab in...
Sorry for the delay in responding. I was away to a meditation camp for 12 days and incommunicado.
A really low output MC is a non issue for me given that my CJ GAT pre has almost 26db gain. I have converted both inputs on the VPS to MM and use external SUTs, a Lyra Erodion with the Etna SL and...
Interesting...new MC transformer. I have a new Lyra Erodion SUT that I acquired in May last year. Absolutely superb SUT that looks and feels different from the earlier red casework Lyra SUT.
Hi Ross
I have had both the Etna and now the Etna SL in the same system, off course not at the same time. The obvious difference is that the SL version is much more finicky when it comes to set up. I can easily detect if the VTF drifts from 1.72gm or more significant if the alignment is even a...
Hi Barry
Good to hear from you
It came from Canada a few years back at around 2kg. For the life of me can’t recall the name. It does no harm to the sound and possibly does some good. TBH platter mats and record weights , IMO, make the smallest contribution to the vinyl chain though the Zanden...
An excellent condition CJ GAT serial no 42. Will throw in a pair of rare, uber expensive NOS Telefunken Cca tubes bought for USD 1250 a pair from Brent Jesse. Original packing . Will ship from Singapore. 220v can easily be converted. PM if interested

I have an excellent condition Lyra Atlas with original packing etc and a retipped Ortofon A95 in mint condition for sale.
Do PM if you want more details

Jeff, the add on weights are a bit tricky as I have the Madake in a detachable headshell. I did ramp up the VTF from the recommended 2.5gm to 2.90gm and there are major improvements in every area. Gone is the residual syrupiness. It's got bite, attack and a deep and tuneful bass. An amazing cart...
Hi Jeff
Thank you for sharing. I have read that the Madake is happier with a heavier tonearm, as it should be given a recommended VTF of 2.5gm. What tonearm are you using with the Madake ? I am a very long way from a 100 hr breakin but to be honest I was getting superior results with the Ortofon...
Arnie
A six pack REL G1 would seriously embarrass a B747.
This is a must hear along with the Olympos SL
Will try and persuade the wife to let me wander
Many thanks, Arnie
I am seriously intrigued by your CH Precision phonostage. If I were to ever upgrade my phono it would be a toss up between the D'Agostino Momentum and your Precision, with my preference for the CH as the Momentum has only a balanced XLR out
I will be in LA on vacation for a...
I am slowly inching past the 40hr mark with the Etna SL. Time for an update. In one word, it's FLAWLESS (Pl add usual disclaimers about my system, my room, musical priorities and wax filled ears!). I am unable to find any fault with the Etna SL. It's neutral as neutral can be. Silky gossamer...
I am getting excellent results with the Miyajima Madake and both my SUTs, a Lyra Erodion and an Airtight ATH 2. Both the A90 and the Madake have a similar output in the 0.2mVs hence it is unlikely to be a gain issue with your phonostage . It's best to try the Miyajima SUT.
I presume you have...
Jeff that is praise indeed preferring the Madake to the much vaunted Uni II. What is your take on breakin time for the Madake ?
I agree this is a very special cart.
