phono section on the SP3a1
i need the map for finding the tube layout so i can just replace the phono section because that is noisy (tube rush, loud) but not the line stage which is dead quiet.
i'm not one who can read a schematic so well, i just need the map for the physical layout of the...
i am currently borrowing a pair of these from a freind. so far, the lows have been definitive down to the sub-basement with detail and buoyancy. quite natural through the mids and highs with perhaps, not the ne plus ultra very top end. will be trying the Schiit Jotenheim with it soon which...
i use regularly, my MMT arm which isn't in the elite but is still a damn good arm. i also have in reserve, a grace 707 which also proved to be fairly good if not in the same class as some used here like the point 4, sindre, graham, and others.
the cartridge that is probably my best is the...
certainly it must need lubrication but accessing the point to do so seems to be difficult. looking on the website is fruitless. not being a DIYer, i am not likely to try and dismantle this beast. any easier solutions?
in reading a recent issue of Hifi World (England) the point that naim amps, while formidable, have a damping factor of 14 whilst American amps are usually known for highish damping factors. what are the implications of such?
just message me, this is is for LA area pickup only. i looked in the asylum want ads but no free designation.

i had heard that he was ill which bothers me because we lose many of our fold to illness such as Brooks Berdan. subsequently, i heard that John's wife was ill which makes me wonder if there were confusion about the issue.

now howard rogers is doing it again only better. the product of interest is "the audiophile system" ...

for a change, its not in a distant place for me. it promises to be a good one, supported by stereophile AND tas. there will be live music wine, and cigars. dont look for me anywhere near the cigars though.
on facebook, is there any chance of posting them here. i really enjoyed seeing all the familiar faces and the faces of those i dont personally know but know the names from audio history.
just a re-posting of the pics/captions would be great fodder for MANY comments.
again, thanks for that...

it seems that they are quite affordable and easily driven. one can start with MMGs and a sub and be quite happy like me. they do a lot of things right, they just take up a bit of room. theres plenty of models to upgrade to if one feels the little ones arent up to the job.
