"Long-Term Equipment Loans: A Win-Win for Everyone" by Robert Harley, The Absolute Sound

So you can call a home style dealer or a small store and buy a new Chronosonix or other items at half off if the dealer is starving for money. I now do see a business for this where you call every shop in the US and start buying and selling these products as a business.

"Long-Term Equipment Loans: A Win-Win for Everyone" by Robert Harley, The Absolute Sound

I don’t see how you can make money buying and selling like Jay. If you want to buy a magico for example, I’m sure you can get close to 50% off. He would have to buy it at least 60% off to make money. Who is going to sell it that cheap?

Alsyvox vs. Clarisys - What are the Sonic Differences? Anyone Understand Design Differences?

Hope both will be at Axpona. I’m also excited to see Final Electrostats are back in business and will be at Axpona.

Can digital get to vinyl sound and at what price?

This thread has become tiresome to me. I think I’m going to listen to some musical bliss with some vinyl.

Can digital get to vinyl sound and at what price?

In my system Nagra was not even close to the MSB Select 2 and that was before I had the Digital Director. Now with the director I'm at a whole other level which is fantastic. The DD added a another level of organic quality and relaxation that is very addictive.

    OMA on turntables

I just watched Johnathan's talk about his new K5 table. It does look like a nice well engineered table. I sure do not like the fact that he says belt drive is a terrible way of designing a table. It's also interesting how he prides himself on the authority of everything and still makes speakers...

Can digital get to vinyl sound and at what price?

Is there an analog input on the merging Horus to record to DXD? Also it would have to have a digital meter and a way to adjust the input signal.

    New MSB Owner

I’m also using render v2. I’m going right from jcat net card xe from my pc using shunyata research best Ethernet cable to the Innous Phoenix net switch to the gigafoil and then using sablon audio Ethernet to the dac. The gigafoil will add organic sound especially to red book cds.

    "Analytical" vs "musical" speakers

My feeling is if the speaker is designed to faithfully reproduce the signal with the least artifacts (cabinet with least talk back) the sound should still be musical if its in the recording. My feeling is with this type of speaker if the sound is lean then the recording studio needs to improve...

Aesthetix Io and Callisto Back to State-of-the-Art

I had the Io as well for 20 years. I now also have the EMIA silver step up and dual power supply phono stage. The EMIA is better more open sounding more relaxed. I have not heard the new Io and would own it if I didn’t have the EMIA.

Social Media and High End Audio

Wow Elliot I’m sorry you had to pay for the whole show. I think one show like Axpona would be enough. The other shows would go by the way side if dealers and manufactures didn’t support them.

Social Media and High End Audio

A lot of times the Manufactures help pay for the room and the cost by the one who sponsors the room may not be as much as you think.
