i owned S1 mk2 for a long while as they were the fronts in my HT...... I also have an ChP big system using 10 series amps..... so i know the sound of both.
i demoed the A1.5 as an amp for my centre channel (SCC) and it was just ok. It simply doesn't have the current to make those speakers...
its a bit like Audioguy above describes ..... My single funk 18 was a strong level 2 and outclassed the magico, rhythmic and marten subs i had before that. Moving to the 18.2 elite, we are stepping into level three territory. The room pressurises. The concrete floor feels like it is moving...
Hi Ron. No. That’s the myth about marten speakers. They are super sensitive to amplification. When those valve amps went in the system became unlistenable. The best amp on those speakers was audia flight.
I’ve now got Coltrane momento 2 with chp 10 series and the sound is almost warm.
I
I have marten Oscar duo ( as well as Coltrane momento 2) and would never suggest they don’t sound good at low volume. In fact I would say they are excellent at low volume. The older generations of marten speakers did sound leaner and did not sound as good at low volumes.
looks like ill be trading my 4 box P1 system into for a stereo P10..... based on the performance of the L10 stereo and M10 stereo in my stereo, im convinced the stereo version of the 10 series will offer better sound than the mono 1 series
yes ive had a quite a few amps in that position. I only use a single channel of that stereo amp for the centre channel.
I use at ATI 8 channel amp for all the other channels. It really makes very little difference for the other channels as they are, most of the time just for effects.
i dont have ACC but use the SCC...... in my experience the amplifier for the centre channel is possibly the most important link in ur chain. 90% of HT is centre channel. I started with Bel Canto ref 600m across all front channels and ultimately decided i could hear the class D. I moved to an...

Got to strongly disagree with that sentiment. Parker’s and Oscar’s are excellent sounding speakers.
I own Coltrane momento 2 statement as well as some Oscar’s and have heard Parker’s. These newer series are just fantastic. Very quiet boxes - u can’t hear them. Amazing tonality - much better than...
i can only use my version as an example as Nathan hasn't pub;ished all the figures for the 18.2
my 18.0LX has an RMS output of 4400 and peak 10400. The 18.2 uses an outboard amp with 2 connected power cables. The driver motor unit is all about heat dissipation. They are very very serious units.
The funk 18.2 has a peak output power of 21200 watts. If you had 2 of them that’s 40kw
I have the model below which is rated at 10400 watts peak. I’m not sure your comparing apples with apples when u compare an 18.2 to any sort of Rel. let alone 2 x 18.2. Also, with the model below the 18.2...
i have a Funk 18.0LX - (its one rung down from the 18.2). I had a Rythmik E15HP2 and i have a Magico SSub. The Funk is the best by a long margin. It simply doesn't compare with the other 2. Albeit in this system it is only used for HT in my living room not for music - but it would still be very...
hi - i use diamond reference pc and ic in my HT and i use DaVinci in my big system. I would not be worried about lean and bright with Crystal cables.
before i had DaVinci speaker cables i used Tara Labs Omega Evolution which are all copper. The crystal cables are smoother warmer and have way...
