thank you,
Crossover is actually an easy part- there are essentially two options- very simple 1st order series x-over, one cap, one coil and two resistors , that’s what I’m using at the moment
Second option is Hiraga designed 2nd order parallel x-over, I have one made by Pete Riggle using...
All of this is fine, but the big NO is the future prospects of owning Koetsu, with the company being defunct, buying a new cartrige means a finite ownership span with no prospects of a rebuild.
With the factory rebuild being offered when the company was functioning meant almost indefinite...
Have to agree on the design appeal, I was impressed with it since I saw one in Vlad Lamm's home years ago.
And a friend of mine has one in his system now. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to buy it if I could afford it, but I can't.
Just ask my wife, she'll tell you.
They are more similar than different, maybe a bit more HF energy with RADA. It's not bright even in the slightest. Both are very organic and quite musical.
RADA is twice more expensive, but both are pretty affordable compared to similar quality counterparts.
RADA Precious One
Misho Myronov Wooden RIAA
Both are MM only very minimalist and pure design, both are excellent with Ypsilon MC L SUT
I have both at the moment
I have two phono stages- RADA Precious one and Misho Myronov “Wooden RIAA”- both are MM only, single input.
SUT is Ypsilon MC-10L
The only potential problem with SUTs is induced hum, placement can get complicated, as well as the TT- tonearm grounding configuration.
Is it just me, or Bob's videos of Diesis Triode are the best sounding ones posted here? Different recordings admittedly, but still- very balanced, open, great detail and texture. No significant faults really.
