My buddy also bought the tape. It sounded bland and not vibrant compared to Classic 45s, we both much preferred the Classic 45s. He sold his copy as well.
Clair Marlo #212 arrived after 10 months of preorder.
Well worth the wait for this one-step, 2-LP, 45rpm translucent virgin vinyl pressing. Great job, @garylkoh!
The sharp edges are due to both the thinner vinyl and a sharp edge trim after pressing. I own other 140g records and the edges on those are much smoother(rounder).
As for the benefits of thicker vinyl - to properly compare the differences, one has to use the same release with different pressing...
#497 Dvorak set arrived after 3 weeks from JPC.de. Every record looks and sounds clean with no blemish. However, even though the box set is the same high-quality packaging as Ma Vlast, they pressed these on flimsy ~140g vinyl with sharp edges rather than the 180g with smooth edges on Ma Vlast...

Excellent interview, Ron. You unearth many things regarding vinyl record making, tape sources, and the stories about LSC-1806 with HP that Hopson has never mentioned before.
Is there going to be a part II?
Congrats Phil, no more fussing around with self-biasing.
Just for kicks, at some point in the future, try the KT-88s from Jadis(less power for sure) to see what you hear about the differences in sound on power tubes.
That is one of the few that are 'supposedly' all analog, according to MoFi updated information.

From everything I read online before MoFi's recent source update, 'all' one-steps used DSD source to plate lacquer, and even the none one-steps were all digital going back 10+ years.
Tapestry is 1/4" analog master to DSD64, and Eagles S/T is 1/4" analog master to DSD 256.
