The ultimate Reiner/CSO Scheherazade in analog

My buddy also bought the tape. It sounded bland and not vibrant compared to Classic 45s, we both much preferred the Classic 45s. He sold his copy as well.

    new 45rpm direct-to-disc---Dvorak Symphony No.9---he who hesitates...

The sharp edges are due to both the thinner vinyl and a sharp edge trim after pressing. I own other 140g records and the edges on those are much smoother(rounder). As for the benefits of thicker vinyl - to properly compare the differences, one has to use the same release with different pressing...

    new 45rpm direct-to-disc---Dvorak Symphony No.9---he who hesitates...

#497 Dvorak set arrived after 3 weeks from JPC.de. Every record looks and sounds clean with no blemish. However, even though the box set is the same high-quality packaging as Ma Vlast, they pressed these on flimsy ~140g vinyl with sharp edges rather than the 180g with smooth edges on Ma Vlast...

I don't know where you find $35 euros but all the "Original Source Series" on DG website are $46.99 euros and up. Not to mention shipping from Germany vs. free shipping which would save you around $18. Also, you can definitely preorder these upcoming ones on Amazon - the first 3, just not all...

Michael Hobson Interview: Nothing but the Truth

Excellent interview, Ron. You unearth many things regarding vinyl record making, tape sources, and the stories about LSC-1806 with HP that Hopson has never mentioned before. Is there going to be a part II?

    My Listening Room

Congrats Phil, no more fussing around with self-biasing. Just for kicks, at some point in the future, try the KT-88s from Jadis(less power for sure) to see what you hear about the differences in sound on power tubes.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

He absolutely 'loves' the sound of Santana Abraxas one-step, and it uses DSD264. I'm sure there are other examples.

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

That is one of the few that are 'supposedly' all analog, according to MoFi updated information. 1/4" / 15 IPS analog master https://mofi.com/collections/ultradisc-one-step/products/mfsl45ud1s-002_bill_evans_sunday_at_the_village_vanguard_180g_45rpm_2lp_box_set

Do Mobile Fidelity Vinyl Re-issues Have a Digital Step in the Process?

From everything I read online before MoFi's recent source update, 'all' one-steps used DSD source to plate lacquer, and even the none one-steps were all digital going back 10+ years.
