Totally agree Emile! Patiently waiting for the NSM update to continue Alpha testing. The spirit of the quote was meant to celebrate the passing of the torch from Extreme to Olympus. Congratulations!
After performing the update, my system also has the stale entry for RoonServer (1311). And after selecting uninstall I also received the Windows error message that it was no longer present. However, I was not presented with an option to delete the entry.
I was curious to look at the Network Connections and rename the Adapters as Ed described.
My Network Connections are similar to 2ndLiner (see attached image).
Ethernet 2 (Network 3) is the Extreme Network Card, so that would be renamed “Taiko NIC.”
And I am assuming that “Tweaked Ethernet” is...
Taiko Switch arrived. And after a Kettlebell workout moving the Switch from travel case to rack, all things musical are wonderful!
I just want to confirm that steps were performed correctly:
- Installed the Network Card in Extreme
- Downloaded the installation script from Taiko website
-...
The DC Power Distributor is currently listed as an option when ordering the Router. Will the DC Power Distributor be available to purchase separately in the future?
Well apparently I've mixed fact with fantasy... Just did a quick search on this thread and only see discussion of a future router, switch, and network card for the Extreme. I accidentally added a DAC into the mix, and will edit my Chord DAVE listing to remove reference to a Taiko DAC. Sorry for...
That is my understanding as well. It will be a proprietary product for the Extreme. Taiko please correct me if I'm wrong.
EDIT: I was mistaken about my reference to a Taiko DAC. See newer post in this thread.
I am that guy. And yes the plan is to purchase a Taiko DAC when it is released. Date presently unknown.
EDIT: I was mistaken and have edited the Chord DAVE listing. See newer post in this thread.
Roon: “Get ready. The most exciting update in our history is just around the corner - and it’s going to transform the way you use Roon forever.”
Narrator: “All across the globe, audiophiles began to grit their teeth as specific muscles tightened.”
Roon Labs: Just wanted to let everyone know that this issue has been fixed in build 918. If you continue to have issues please let us know.
Importing Local Album Bug - Split Tracks
Not too long ago there was a night ... enjoying the music while sipping a Negroni ... when my imagination expanded that ecosystem to include a Taiko DAC within the Extreme or connected. And I blame the Negroni!
Some had success with Merge Albums, then deleting the duplicate tracks (which didn't exist). Some had success selecting the albums and choosing Rescan Album. And others had success by shutting down Roon Server while importing albums. But none were 100% successful.
From Roon Support six days...
The latest version of Roon has a bug that appears during the import process. Here is the documentation:
“Importing causes one track to appear in another album of the same name. The album with the rest of the tracks contains duplicated track names (indented).”
Importing local album bug (from...
A week ago I purchased some Blue Jeans CAT6 UTP, removed the audiophile switches SOtM sNH-10 and JCAT M12, both powered by JCAT OPTIMO 3 DUO power supply, and made a direct connection to the Extreme.
ARRIS Modem > Wi-Fi Router > 10m CAT6 > Extreme
This was very good, but I wasn’t a big fan of...
Wanted to share this story, just in case there’s someone else who might benefit.
For the OS update a week ago, and today’s installation of the Taiko USB Driver for SRC-DX ... Emile was not able to make a TeamViewer connection, and so we used AnyDesk instead.
During today’s session, Emile...
Curious to know if this AmpliFi HD might help in another way. I have four devices on my LAN that are not related to the Extreme in playback mode.
1) Mac Pro: dedicated to PGGB offline remastering application
2) Synology NAS: music library not on the Extreme (periodically move albums on and off)...
