Just for add a historical annecdote on assigning a number to a sound quality uplift, eight years ago Emile and I used to use the "Regen" yardstick. Regen was the grand daddy of USB devices, and we could all hear a differnce. When some was realy good, it would be 3 Regens or 5 Regens

Moladiego's problem should be resolved by moving cover art and liner pdfs from a subfolder, to the parent folder where the music tracks reside
Stay tuned for Moladiego's report tomorrow
Dated added filter functionality we don’t have, need to think about this could be added
Composers and Directors we do have
Record label is low on the wish list
You are correct, if the track is already cached as the next track to be played, one needs to play another track, and then come back to that track to get the track processed with new processing setting.
So my advice to Steve about restarting XDMS after changing the Sound Profile was clearing the...
This is the way it is supposed to work, but being a bit of a Belt, Braces and Suspenders kind of person, I suggested to Steve to restart XDMS to be absolutely sure
There is a new XDMS-NSM backend build dated January 11 thats available on the XDMS Apha Testers Discord server. Famester has this build which elevates streaming (Qobuz only at the present time) to a new level. I have to say even listening on my battery powered laptop to a RME USB headpohone...
A Day in Oldenzaal
This past Wednesday I spent the day talking to each Taiko Team member. There is this air and mood of confidence, engagement and joy in their activities, a team firing on all cylinders. Taiko has come a long way since the kitchen table in July 2015.
The Olympus chassis was a...
We expect to be testing the NSM Control App 2.3.1 aka v 1 tomorrow morning and thereafter planning on about 3-5 NSM installs this week
Next week we will do 10 to 20 NSM installs
I will be in Oldenzaal this Wednesday for a Sound Check and functionality review
The XDMS build out has been delayed by several months by the need to build functionality to send information on music playing activity to the streaming service. This is done and certified. The focus has returned to getting the Beta release built out.
Things have been more complex than one...
I am so happy about the field reports on the Gen 2 Router and the uplifted Roon SQ, it's made my day big time,
The Maestro Wizard of Oldenzaal needs to take a bow,
Bravo, and Encore
We know gapless is a must have, and scrubbing is just a nicety.
However in the bigger scheme of things we need scrubbing in order to get to Beta, so it has to be the top priority
The Internet Explorer shortcut that we use to re-install Roon Server 64 works as before
As a note, XDMS Settings has a function for reinstalling Roon Server from the XDMS App
When Roon is running it grabs the ASIO channel to the DAC and makes it unavailable to XDMS
So it is possible to play Roon with XDMS still running, but not the other way around
ie, if Roon is running, XDMS can not Play
Discovery Mode, fetches, process and plays with no caching. Concert Mode cahes the next track for shorter gaps, but user is not permitted to change the order of tracks in the queue
Default and Alternative sound profiles affect the amount of processing that is done before play
This report is a bit of a surprise for me, as the Default/Alternative toggle only affects XDMS
However, XDMS, as any and every application does leave its memory allocation footprint. I suspect it something to do with this.
Roon Appliance has a huge memory footprint, which makes it senstive...
Hi Marty,
Roon does suffer from Memory leaks.
In TaskManager you can check the RAM usage of Roon Appliance. If it is more than 1 GB, then it would be good to reboot the Extreme
Send me a WhatsApp if you want me to take a look
