Introducing the All-new Center Stage Ultra TT Feet for Turntables and Center Stage Ultra TD Feet for Tape Decks

hi all, just trying to come up to speed here, advise welcome: does the TD/TT/TC replace the 2m series? is the 2m now out of production? if you were to only buy for one component to start, where do you start? streamer / transport, or dac, or pre / amp? given competing technologies employed in...

Playback Designs MPS-X - any user impressions?

wondering if i can sell my Aurender W20se and stream Qobuz directly from my switch using 3rd party app linked to the PD MPS-X (i know manual says yes, but Hi Fi Advise says it didn't work). Have the Edelweiss dac. Love the thing

    Network Acoustics Muon Pro Review

2nd update: i've now upgraded my switch to the ediscreation SS extreme, a large improvement over the EE 8. And my DAC to the PD edelweiss. and still the muon filter improves the overall presentation (albeit to a smaller degree than before) with a lower noise floor and more musical (dare i say...

Vertere Redline power cable : Perfect for CAS components!

got to try this cable (with upgraded plugs) against a shunyata omega QR-S on a switch in a very high $ / SOTA rig. the omega was better: blacker background, slightly better resolution. but the vertere performed *very* well and is a totally satisfactory cord in that application, at a fraction of...

Vertere Redline power cable : Perfect for CAS components!

wanted to refresh this thread. bought two verteres per CKKeung and upgraded plugs to FI46Gold Male and FI50 Rhodium female, thought it sounded wonderful. and was planning on cutting them in 1/2 to make an extra cord. and here's where the trick lies. the male end is plug and play. the female...

    Network Acoustics Muon Pro Review

follow up: my friend brought his SR Switch & SRX power cord over to my place (system in toggle). when using my switch & JC2 power supply, Muon system was no question better vs a cheap ethernet cable or the SRX Galileo. (and yes, the ethernet cable from the switch to the Aurender makes a very...

Plixir Statement LPS : I bought this flagship grade LPS just now.

i'm faced with this same dilemma. i'm going to try the redline w/ furutech plugs on my new ediscreation SS extreme switch; if i like it, i'll cut the redline & make 2 cords. if it stinks, the redline goes for sale as a 2m cable. AQ and other mfgs make 1m cables FWIW---AQ will go down to 0.5M...

    Network Acoustics Muon Pro Review

Learned a lot about how to get streaming right from this community, thought I’d return the favor of experience. After a big insurance settlement on a stolen car, I decided to get into streaming, as my friend (similar setup but with MSB electronics) was getting excellent results using Qobuz into...

nearfield listening to S7s in smallish room - rec'd ear height vs drivers?

update summary: nearfield listening requires careful attention to height variables. AND, be sure the front baffle is at least an inch away from the floor / carpet. so i put my listening chair on 4" blocks to better align it with the tweeter and got notably improved tonality as a midrange...

nearfield listening to S7s in smallish room - rec'd ear height vs drivers?

well, 24*16*10 isn't so small, but to get proper bass response had to pull them out quite a bit and the room only permits seating ~ 10' from front baffle. once the spikes were installed & fully screwed in, front baffle basically coupled to the carpet, the bass went too deep and ill defined...

    Wilson Audio Maintenance

zero interest in debating the armchair analysts. i'll just say debbie's statements ("refresh the sound") are IME highly credible and understated---if the resistors are worn (measure when cold) then its akin to changing old strings on a guitar to new ones. yes, it can be profound, ignore debbie...

just measure the resistance w/ a DMM---if they're off spec, you wont know what youre missing til you change them. --i didn't

    Wilson Audio Maintenance

thats exactly what i wrote CAP.: 2* 10r or 4* 20r = 1* 5r but the former have considerably greater power handling and (with duelund) less variance due to heat per the lower power handling per r when they're paralleled.
  16. R

    Wilson Audio Maintenance

good for folks to know, but always remember the more resistors you put in parallel, the lower the temperature impact would be, thus negating the negative temp coefficient. so, instead of 1* 5r, try 2* 10r, or 4* 20r ----same r, but power handling 2x in each instance

    Wilson Audio Maintenance

i've owned a 2nd hand pair of sasha 2s for 1.5 yrs, and after swapping in replacement resistors (the originals were off spec by 10-20% !!!), its like a new pair of speakers. has anyone tried the duelund cast's ? seems there'd be trouble fitting them, and also they're rated for 10w as opposed...

Magico Mini II, Q1, S1 - Does anyone use subs with these?

i added stereo F110s to S3s to great (!) effect. the implementation matters, and i found the results were only acceptable when: 1) mains run full range, subs x-over at 80db w/ 24db crossover (quick dropoff) 2) subs elevated 3" (to reduce floor coupling and tighten bass) 3) sub stock feet removed...

3 things to improve the sound of your ARC cd player for < $150

    ARC and vib isolation

my 150se works far better on a BDR shelf my Ref 5se works far better on a BDR source and my CD9 works WAY better on a star sounds platform so whoever is saying they don't need isolation is frankly kidding themselves. every component needs it
