Fairly new Pacific owner here. The heater selector knob on the back of my Pacific rotates counterclockwise without an end stop. It does stop at each tube selection point but will keep going around continuously. There is a stop going clockwise. I'm concerned that now I don't really know...
Emile, I'd like to better understand the advantage Option 4 offers vs. Option 3. I recall in this discussion Option 4 offers a 10-15% improvement in sound performance for the reasons explained. Beyond the performance improvement are there other reasons to add the Olympus O/I such as the...
Are the router, switch, and DCD still utilized as before with #3 Olympus or #4 Olympus + Olympus I/O, or are any of the functions incorporated in Olympus? With either #3 and #4 Olympus options can you start with the memory you have and later upgrade to the improved memory? Can you start with...
Is I2S the planned interface between XDMI and the Lampi Horizon? What is the planned interface between XDMI and the Lampi Poseidon which doesn't have I2S AFAIK?
Thank you Emile for installing the update. I haven't yet toggled to Roon but I hear a meaningful and positive improvement in XDMS. I'm sure we all appreciate you including the XDMS upgrade along with the Roon fix. Many Thanks to the Taiko team for the quick response!
Is anyone else still waiting for the chrome router/distributor they ordered before June? I followed up with support for the first time three weeks ago and was told it would ship out in the next 1-3 weeks.
I'm planning to keep my Roon Nucleus + up and running to handle all the other Non- Extreme Roon devices throughout the house. I'll need to switch cores between it and the Extreme and won't be able to play everything all at once (though that would be pretty fun to do) but I'm looking forward to it.
I used Wise with the different account number provided by Emile a couple of days ago and everything seems to have worked. I hadn't realized the euro has appreciated over the last month or so.
That makes sense and I recall that now. I mixed up an earlier post from Emile today about RJ45 being his preferred input but on looking again that was for the new router. So I'm hoping to relocate the earlier discussion about ordering RJ45 vs.fiber input to the new switch.
So... it's Cat 6 RJ45 from my current router into the SFP+ on the new Taiko switch. Output from the new switch is SFP+ connected by passive DAC copper twinax cable (supplied by Taiko) to the network card's SFP+ ...is that correct?
Well two reasons for me. I have not heard Roon since I installed XDMS. I would like to A/B between the two for the enjoyment of that and to cement my opinion about them. The second reason is that there are sometimes I want to listen and just let it play. If there is a way to do this in XDMS...
So, about easily switching from XDMS and Roon... Is it as simple as going into Task Manager and switching off both xdms-server and xdms-player and switching on TaikoRoon and then restarting from the XDMS app? Are there any other steps needed to get Roon up and playing again? I'm a Mac guy and...
I'm concerned about periodic lightning storms in my area as well. Seems that unplugging the Everest (with the Extreme still plugged in) or a power outage to the unit for any reason should have the same SQ effect as switching the rear power switch off.
