Well i think this is a matter of taste. The 2500mkii is very neutral. i tested different preamps and Dacs and the 2500 showed all differences. i also tried the CR1 with different amps and on my opinion the body also comes with power. If the amp cannot drive the load, the low end suffers. But the...
Sorry to chime in and i don´t know the Vitus, but one of the strengths of the TAD MK2500 mk2 is speed. I also do have the combination Zu Druid VI driven by Atma M60, which are known for speed and the 2500 Mk2 is as fast driving the TAD CR1.
Well i think this is the problem with all "best-of-reviews", no one has all existing gear at the same time at the same place...and it can´t be reviewed by a massive group of people at the same time to eliminate the subjective factor
So gear which is available will be reviewed by a small group of...
Just for anybody having the same problem: I solved it by creating short silent tracks, about 15 seconds long, in different bitrate qualities.
Just set the file before the music file in a playlist and play them both the may is locking during the "dummy" file and then play the music file from...
Hi
i am streaming music through ZenStream using an usb-stick with the Holo May and the best sound i get is using coax. But the problem is that the May is locking after every song. With my Cambridge Blu Ray Player the HoloMay only locks once. I think this is because the Cambridge set the Bitrate...
Hi yes i do have a Venom USB cable, really good! Almost solved my locking problem...in my system almost as lovely as with locked coax. with red book quality flacs
Thanks guys. I get the pop with USB-Connection. SO perhaps HQ-Player could be the way to go.
Using a Cambridge blu ray player as a streamer there is no problem with PLL as it doesn´t loose lock after changing songs. But with a Zen Streamer using an USB Stick for example it locks every...
Does anybody know how to deal with the Locking delay using spdif?
Yes, you can turn PLL off but in my system using PLL and spdif is far better than usb and spdif without pll. with PLL turned on i don´t hear the beginning of the songs, really annoying...
Mostly i hear red book quality
Thanks

Well it is not said that an exepensive cable is better. I tried a lot. But it is also a matter of taste. One prefers speed others resolution. More upper bass or neutrality. So everyone should find cables which work best in his own system and this doesn´t have to be the most exensive even if you...
This was not the question....and which amp do you mean, pre, integrated power? What about source, speakers, room?
The synergy of a whole system is the key
I just wanted to test both and my experience is that the braided design is a bit more forward, engaging. I think this is because of the lower inductance. Resolution is good with both designs.
And all solid core designs are more precise than any stranded designs i tested before, i tested copper...
Hi Agent86,
i do have both. SOCT-14 using 2 per pole and SOCT-18 using 4.
I braided them now and flattened the ends a bit with a hammer.
The picture shows the 18.
I don´t use termination. From time to time i use a very fine sandpaper to clear the contacts.
In comparison they are very similar...
My suggestion would be Acoustic Arts Reference Preamp II. Very dynamic, huge soundstage, silky mids and tight bass.
Very low output impedance. There is a new version coming up but i only do have the MK II in my system...
i suggest New Audio Frontiers 845 SE with ACME 845, Valvo 7044 Green Label and Psvane 12AX7-T-MII/2
very musical, transparent and magic sound with a great soundstage if paired with the right speaker
with these tubes the 845 are almost as fast as atma-spheres
Having tested pure silver, copper, expensive, cheap cables i ended up in using 16 Neotech 18 AWG solid core pure copper NEOTECH SOCT-14 without termination as speaker cable. This is the most resolving, dynamic and realistic sound. 8 per side, 4 per pole. All cables must have a certain distance...
