    Taiko Audio Extreme Music Server

You can use a USB drive ofcourse, there’s some degradation but the caching mechanisms are pretty solid nowadays, for both Roon as XDMS. Assuming you have the USB card to connect to your DAC the “old” on board USB port labelled “DAC” performs reasonably well. It does help to use a drive which can...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

    Officially the Olympus should have a 1.6 / 3.2A fuse and the IO a 1 / 2A fuse but we’ll run some tests if 2 / 4 A are safe to use.

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Thanks! Do note that for 110V applications that would need to be the 4A T version.

Not when brand new but it becomes directional after burn in. It’s easy to identify as when you reverse its direction you’ll notice a loss of dynamics.

Would you mind sharing your preferences / impressions on those? Assume either copper or silver would be your favourites of those 4?

Yes, absolutely, user retrofittable significant upgrades at reasonable pricing in the works, but eta Q4 at best.

    1) That would make sense yes (avoiding 2 releases for the same product) 2) Something more creative, with no further details to be disclosed at this time ;)

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Hi @MarkusBarkus , We're working on it! It's a bit complicated due to the custom proprietary nature of the MSB PRO ISL interface, which requires design efforts in both hardware as software/firmware. But it's in progress! The other interface options/expansions we're working on in parallel are...

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Hi @RichardA , the Olympus footers are modular and can be exchanged, as that leads to quite some possible permutations I cannot say anything definitive about it yet, most likely we could design a footer with a surface interacting favourably and/or optimally with the Daiza. But as a start we’re...

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Hi @rocco1113 , no it doesn't, and I'm afraid we have no plans to implement it either, with the MQA bankruptcy and controversy around it's popularity, it would be a waste of our resources IMHO, I would rather spend our efforts on something else :)

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Hi @Kris , Yes we did but there’s currently no additional performance to be gained from that. The modularity of the system though could allow for easily retrofittable further improvements with future technology, for example if we run out of room one could add a second I/O and move modules...

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Yes correct: That is indeed about adopting a native XDMI implementation for Aries Cerat DACs. We’re working out the details right now.

    Taiko Audio Extreme Router

It's a larger upgrade then you'd expect isn't it :) Admittedly we've gone back and forth many times on whether we even wanted to release a router because of the potential support intensity, it's obviously a much more complex device then a switch, then we went through the same back and forth on...

Indeed things are quite hectic here currently, bordering on undoable, but we have reinforcements arriving this week with 3 new people joining the team! All will be well :-)

Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

No, it is now a sizeable upgrade over USB from the Extreme but still way behind XDMI - AES/EBU. I don’t see how that gap could ever be closed due to technical limitations of the USB audio protocol.
