Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

This is not about drying the air. It’s about reducing the noise floor due to EMI/EMF. The considerable length of cabling in our homes acts as an antenna. Noise is picked up through sockets and switches throughout your house. The Himalayan Salt reduces these EMI/EMF noises. EMF is defined as...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

Place directly on equipment where possible. I use cork, then slate mass dampers. Otherwise use card or cork to prevent marking. Light switched on.

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

Himalayan salt lamps lower the noise floor. Used in conjunction with mass load damping and seismic isolation, the results are outstanding. Other salts and materials used on the mains fuse box, switches and sockets will further lower the noise floor. I hope to write details, probably in a...

    Component Mass Loading and Dampening

Thanks for the reply stehno. While any non magnetic weight will help, I’ve had particularly good results using slate plates after trying various types of timber. It could be that it’s the slates added density that makes the difference and the fact that it is a material with inherent layers. I...

    Component Mass Loading and Dampening

Very good topic. Mass load damping makes a very big upgrade and can be achieved at low cost if you know what you are doing. Discuss further if there is any interest. You are missing a low cost and massive upgrade if you don’t.

    IsoAcoustics Orea footers

I have them on test and they work really well. I only have one set at the moment but intend getting more. I don’t suppose they are going to be as good as Symposium, for example, but considering their price they are highly recommended.

    Fidata HFAS1-S10U

Answers from fidata Why Twonky instead of Roon? The UPnP AV / DLNA server is common in the world of network audio. You can expect to connect with many devices. Especially, Twonky Server has adopted it because its history is old and it is a server that can say de facto standard. 2)...
