I am driving Wilson Alexia S1 with Apollon NC1200 Monos (Sonic Imagery Opamps).
Very happy with it: Outperforms several Class A and A/B High end Amps including Spectral for me. Highly recommended. Safes bucks, space, energy.
Edit: My choice was not financially driven, but performance and sound...
Hi all - think I should update here, as I initiated this Thread and had some changes in my Equipment... :)
So, yes: I sold in my Sasha 2‘s for a pair of Alexia 1‘s. My room is approximately 28 square meter (90+ square feet I guess?). I would not recommend the Alexia in a smaller room, but works...
Exactly - they can make it as expensive as they wish to accomodate their inconvenice. But it is a shameless poor customer care. Zero love. Never Shiit again. And my RME ADI-2 DAC for Euro 1K outperforms the Yggi anyway...
Wow... still have to get over it.
I accidently made a scratch into the Chassis of my Shiit Yggdrasil, which disturbs me a lot.
I asked their Distributor in Europe, if I could have a replacement (of course on my cost).
It took 2x Weeks for the answer (okay, this is fine and can happen due to...
Ansuz actually is also astronomical in pricing. Guess that comes with industry and business interests: They make you pay for waht works (better). Material price in the cables is a fraction. You pay for the concept of the products. Ansuz cables actually even don't feel and look expensive...
I have all Ansuz except Pre to Power and to Loudspeaker
I have Spectral MH770 UL II for Speakers and MIT Shotgun Balanced from DMC30 SL to DMA 180. All Power Cables and Distributor are from Ansuz. I also used to run Shotgun from DAC to Preamp, but exchanged ALL except above mentioned cables...
My 30SL was in servicing and we put the internal gain to zero and adjusted the input gains in such a way, that the noise ratio gets improved (lower) with a Volume Poti setting that showed the best balance in my typical listening Volume. :)
Hi all,
I have a new 240 for offer with 30% off from Retail price. Still quite some money. My 180 is driving the Sasha Series 2 nicely and the 240 has less power. Can't compare A/B and the offer stands for just some days... what are your thoughts? Do it, don't do it? Is the Power of 240...
I found a wonderful trick! All super light scratches are GONE, the slightly thicker ones significantly less visible! :)
Polish it with Tooth paste (no whitener!) with a dry cloth. Rub firmly with feeling for 1 minute... Clean with slightly wet cloth. Dry with another cloth... Done you are...
Hi there,
Is there any color or way to mask very light scratches on Soectral Frontplates? I have some on the DMA 180, which you can see if you put direct light on it. Not really bad, but I love my babies and it would be great to have them mint looking... :)
Thanks for any tips!

Would make sense with RCA cabling from Pre to poweramp, if you want gain and dynamics like with balanced cabling, right? Or any other use case for +6dB gain? Has anyone tried it out soundwise?
Hi there, some people recommended me to tighten the chassis bolts every 6-12 months on the Sasha to preserve optimum performance.
Really needed? Questions:
1. How tight with a torque wrench in NM?
2. Or do you tighten by "feeling" with the hands and screwdriver?
Thanks for experiences...
Hi there,
I am quite new to the forum, but bombarding it with new threads... ;) Hope you guys don't mind...
I am offered a SDR-2000. Currently I use a Weiss DAC-202, which I like a lot. But I like the idea of having an all Spectral-Chain... :) But of course not to a too big sacrifice in...
I checked for reference with another 30 SL. The sound of the volume control motor is the same. I don't find it subtle though, Ack. But knowing this is normal, gives me comfort.
Hi there,
I see there are red switches on the main board of the DMC-30 SL at each RCA input... and there are two red switches at the right hand side of the volume motor.
What are the 6x switches at RCA position for and which position is regular? Input gain I guess?
What are the two...
Hi all,
I am using a DMA-180 with DMC-30 SL driving a WA Sasha 2 via Spectral cable loom. I have an unused and still boxed DMA-160 for offer from a collector for a very attractive price.
Not sure if I win something with 160 here besides having basically "a new mint looking machine"...
The...
Ack, you are a hero! That also first confused me a little (along with the slight inbalance of channels when using my Logitech Universal remote vs. original Spectral remote control). A truly special and sensitive unit! :)
TommyTunes, I am considering that step... how do you feel about it now? Is Alexia traded in for your Sasha 2? What are the differences and all worth it?
I have a pair of Sasha 2 since 11 months.
No chance to hear an Alexia yet.
A comparison at a dealer's place will not really be revealing enough (different electronics, room). No dealer in Germany does home audition with Wilson speakers, so it is hard to get an idea about the differences...
A...
So... Since 3 days I have a DMC 30 SL G2 in my system. Compared to DAC direct, there is a huge difference in Sound!
The 30 SL goes into 180 via Shotgun S1, and along with this I bought a MH 770 UL. All stuff was from a collector and still boxed new and 100% mint. This Pre changed worlds...
Yes, the original Remote seems to "lock" at certain ranges. The Logitech seems to sit "inbetween" in the lowest volume setting. It 100% reproducable! But the preamp is 100% balanced with the original remote. So... machine is running perfectly. Very happy! The oddity of inbalance was somehow...
Interesting observation: I am using a programmable universal Logitech Remote. The inbalance between the channels just happens with the Logitech! Using the Spectral Remote, all is superb! Wow, strange and interesting. So the original remote is on the table! :)
