I just watched #15 on e80cc and, whilst long, it was insightful. Having just compared the Philips SQ and Siemens labeled Tungsrams, I had a different view to the presenter but, hey, that’s tubes for you….
I just discovered your thread and clicked on the YouTube link. I saw a 6SN7 review, #74, so that's what I watched. Up for review were not your everyday tubes. There were two Russian Melz tubes which I happen to own, vs. a Foton (Russia) and a Sylvania GTB. All were very good but the clear winner was the Mil Spec Melz 1578 which has become a "holy grail" tube. His findings match my own, it has deep bass, a very good midrange, and a spacious soundstage.
I subscribed to the channel and will continue watching.

Following on from my earlier post, I took a deeper dive into the e80cc and was kindly introduced by a Hungarian customer / WBF member to a local tube expert to further discuss earlier Tungsram production options. As a general rule, I usually feel it is best to source from the original country of production for better knowledge and more direct supply chains.

Tibor is a member of a Facebook tubes group and I have had a number of insightful conversations with him. My first order arrived smoothly a few weeks ago and the second, for some rather exotic variants in the link below, is now in the post. He also has plenty of early Siemens and Telefunken options.
