Asking for general guidance regarding approaches and considerations upstream of my preamplifier (vs. brands or products at this point in time).
I'm 100% digital (computer based) for the front end of my system.

Leaving power, cabling, isolation, etc. off the table (at this time).
Goals are further development of my system. A balance of the cerebral and the emotional. Reference is unamplified live music.
