AMP and PRE mating

Hello friends just ordered the Canary Audio M600 power amp which has 50W class A with the input impedance of 150,000 ohms I want to mate it with the Ypsilon Pre 100 which has an output impedance of 150 ohms and the input impedance of 150Kohms.
Will they both mate or will it be a mismatch kindly throw some light on the subject.

There should be no concern with that pairing as far as impedance matching, which is generally recommended to have at least a 10:1 ratio of an amp's input impedance vs. the preamp's output impedance. In this case the ratio is 1000:1 which is ideal and should not present a problem. :cool:

The main concern is not so much the pre and amp, but the cables between them. Since you are at 150 ohms output impedance, the cables should have very low capacitance/foot. The cables I used to make were 3.8pF/foot. If the cables have higher capacitance, this can cause HF roll-off. Keep them as short as possible too.

How can we advise on cables without knowing the length of the cables that is being considered?

Anyway for common lengths (1-3m) capacitance is not critical with 150 ohms output impedance, the cut-off of 150 ohm with 500 pf is over 200 kHz.

Technically this pairing is perfect and not critical in anyway IMHO.

Cutoff has little to do with audibility.
