Well, I just received the latest iteration of the Bayz Audio Courantes. The big difference here is the leg extensions which are approximately 6" long. As of this post, the speakers have only 2 hours with music playing so far. Out of the box? Impressive to say the least.

I must say the originals look much better. The grey legs make the entire speaker seem to have an ostrich theme. Maybe coloring the feet black like the speaker might help, or, perhaps, don't have a gap in between the legs.
Must agree, it messes up the beautiful lines of this speaker. Maybe a one piece solid steel or aluminum foundation/foot would look better?

I would say the extensions are significant sonically, and not by a small amount, and certainly not in the way I thought they would behave.
Definitely way too early to post any observations. I'll post my thoughts in a week or two, once the speakers have 100+ hours on them.

Any impressions at this point?
Yes, but premature to say much at this point. The sound is still changing daily, partly the speakers but mainly my own adjustment to their uncoventional sonics and presentation (but musically absolutely right IMHO).

What is the radiating area of the black piece between the woofers?

The radiating area of the 'black piece' AKA the Bayz Radial Speaker or BRS is 157 cm2 or 24.3 in2 on the Courantes.
The BRS on the Counterpoint is twice these values; 314 cm2 or 48.6 in2.

A standard one inch dome tweeter has a radiating area of slightly more than 8 cm2 or 3.14 in2

The BRS has no breakup modes and operates through a first order crossover at 2000 Hz up to 50k.
