And very reliable i never had a problem , only 1 tube broke in 7 years , 45 euro .
Only ( slight) down side is that its a bit noisy caused by transformer hum .
But its soon forgotten when you play music / watch a movie
According to madfloyd the CAT JL7 amourphous core( also in the JL5 ) is quit.
It also doesnt run really hot , like my Graaf GM 200 OTL did
just fine

once i had to repair a convergent there was power tube circut board error .it gets very hot there.

I do think M mickaelsons system certainly would improve with adding the JL7 mono blocks .
For this kind of $$$ spend on the system its merely pocket change

I m quit surprised the JL 5 s could even drive the subsonics .

While CAT gear is great , its off course still a tube amp .
And the XVX s are 1,5 ohm minimum , 92 db eff .
1,5 ohms is quit low , CH precision can take an example out of that !!
