Hi,

I recently acquired an Esoteric D-03 & G-0s. I have a NAD CI-580 that I connect to the D-03 using the RCA1. I connect the Word Input from D-03 to the Word Out on the G-0s, but I keep getting WRD ERROR. What am I doing wrong?

Please help! Newbie with Master Clock

Cheers, K

I use a k-01x with the clock and it’s connected from a BNC cable to the 10mhz clock out and sync with the clock in on the CD player.
if you are struggling, I’m sure esoteric will help if you don’t have the manuals
good luck

Hello KKim,

both your units work with the wordclock system.

Did you try this:
first set your clock output to 44,1 kHz to the exact corresponding output of the G-0s.

Connect to the BNC word clock input of your DAC and select Clock input.

If that works, you can try 88,2 kHz or higher.

Both units are not made for the 10Mhz Master clock frequency.

Best!

Yes I've tried everything, it keeps giving me WRD ERROR, it won't lock to the clock. I believe it's my input source NAD CI580 but at this stage I don't have any other device with a digital output to test.

Can you find out which digital format your NAD CI580 delivers and at which frequency?
Can you select exact that frequency at your clock and at your DAC?
Otherwise I have no idea, sorry.
