Seems to be not much music bought on wbf  C'mon gents, it's not all about the gear and reissues

Here is a few of my favs.
Best Albums
Tyler, The Creator - Scum **** Flower Boy - hip hop rap, but not as you know it - almost deep doom jazz in places

The Smashing Pumpkins - Shiny And Oh So Bright - Vol. 1/LP - No Past, No Future, No Sun - despite their age, I still like their rage, like a rat in a cage

Kurt Vile - Bottle It In - this guy can't do a thing wrong playing the same song over and over, but different

Prince - Piano & A Microphone 1983 - absolutely awesome, just Prince and his piano doodling on cassette - mesmerising and a true reflection of the greatest composer this world has seen inn popular music.

Anna von Hausswolff - Dead Magic - dark doom female jazz

Kanye West - Ye - Yeh!! The ego has risen back to superstar level

Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino - a welcome change of direction with the quieter moods.

Best Aussie Albums

Middle Kids - Lost Friends - very good alt rock female vocals new band

Amy Shark - Love Monster - electronic based pop but with a maturity akin to her late 20's age.

Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders - Blue Poles - sounding like the best of Roxy music in places mixed with Nick Cave

Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel - her best album yet - rock on.

Best Soundtrack Albums

Graham Coxon - The End of the F***ing World (Original Songs and Score) - Blur guitarist creating more exciting and vibrant music than Damon

Thom Yorke - Suspiria - feeling like you are in a drug engrossed coma - great stuff

Best Electronic Albums

Fever Ray - Plunge - a hard listen but well worth it.

The Presets - Hi Viz - super hi energy dance music

Daniel Avery - Song For Alpha - superb structured layered IDM, almost too serious for his own good

Nils Frahm - All Melody - hard to describe the soundscapes, just listen.

Best Reissues
Songs: Ohia - Travels In Constants - atmospheric, sad, lonely and awesome - RIP Jason

The Rolling Stones - Studio Albums Vinyl Collection 1971-2016 - superb box set done right.

New Discoveries in 2018 of older albums

Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds From Another Planet - My 2018 Album Of The Year - pity it was released in 2017

Buzz Kull - Chroma - darkwave electronic music with late 80's flavour from Sydney.

Billie Eilish - Dont Smile At Me - 16 year old chick has got game. Lovely, smart intellectual pop
