I decided to move the entire room set up 90 degrees in hopes it would work better for all the gear coming in and out.

5 days of work finally complete!

Congrats Michael, good job!

I’m a little bit concerned about windows, keep us informed.

Thank you Luca.

I actually have very heavy cloths I will hanging behind the curtain to control the lighting for videos, so it should not be a problem.

So what does your wife have to say about all this? :)
Actually...I think she may be pretty good with it. She likes the fact that the system is over to the right of the room vs. directly head-on like it was previously.

I just did more listening.

There is one place the sound is bouncing and creating an echo that was bothering me. It took me about 2 hours of trial and error and I found where it was happening. I put the AGS diffusor there and it took care of the issues. Now I could use one more of them but I just don't have the money to buy another one.

I checked out one of your older videos and can see how that is an improvement.

Have you considered putting an acoustic curtain on those rear windows?

Yeah - it's definitely a step up in many ways sonically.

Actually the issue I am fighting now is not the windows but the angled fire place that reflects the sound right back at me which is what was creating the echo.

Can’t grasp the entire picture, I mean the current back wall and mainly the “no wall” on the right side. I’m OCD about room symmetry and I guess you have great work ahead to find the right balance, it could take months IMHO. But you already know that, my friend! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

Against the common belief glass is not the worst sounding material and windows in your listening room may not be the reason for problems you’re experiencing. Pulling curtains to one side instead of covering windows may sound better. I agree that fireplace is a bigger problem.

Through trial and error I've come to agree with this.

You could get a 4” thick RPG or similar dense acoustic fiberglass “plug” made for the fireplace that you put in place for critical listening. I’ve had good success with that with odd “holes” in various rooms. (Alternatively, something dense and solid, which I have had issues with when there’s a cavity behind as they sometimes “ring”.)

Thanks Bruce.

I've been experimenting with moving the floor standing AGE diffusors in front of it and they work wonders. As I only have two of them I'm now employing the GIK absorbers I have as back up.

Hopefully that works well.
