During the last years I always used power splitters from the Spanish Company Vibex. Every time, when they changed their portfolio, I upgraded accordingly.

The last two years I was using the Vibex Granada Powerblock with integrated DC Filter plus the on top Vibex Alhambra AC Filter.

This year Vibex presented their new products, which will replace the former ones.
As many companies before, they are using the opportunity to double their retail prices, so the future Vibex Powerblock with DC Filter will cost 5000,- eur recommended retail.

So Vibex is now entering a segment, where other competitors been for a while before. I had chosen the Vibex Granada because of the double DC filter, my former amps were benefitting from the DC filter, less noise from the PSU. But my current gear is less sensible in this regard.

Analyzing the market of high class power splitters, you will identify brands like Ansuz, Isotech, Furutech and many more.

Since some years I like the design of the Furutech Pure Transmission Power 6E model. Unfortunately this powerblock was launched in 2012 (EU) for very expensive 11.500,- eur .
The Furutech update to "NFC" technology made no difference to the recommended retail price, but has increased the chance to get a used version for a price,
the Vibex Granada replacement will be launched.

Today than I had the chance to compare the Furutech 6E with my current Vibex Granada , which has satisfied me for a long time. But changing to the Furutech gave the music a lot more energy, mainly in the lower mids, upper bass, so the music is now more rich and energetic. In parallel the resolution increases over all frequencies, sharpness , mainly in female vocal sibilance, which is mostly critical to reproduce "smooth". The "black" , the "quietness" has increased as well, so it feels more dynamic in all dimensions.

So I am quite happy and the Furutech 6E can stay, the Vibex Granada will go on sale!

May be the NFC Version of the 6E is even better, but reading about NFC performance mostly sees an increased brightness, which would not fit to my tonal balance.
Hopefully , there will be a chance to compare the two versions in a time :)

(Just for reference, I am using the Critical Mass System QXK amp stand rack triangle with a 54cm x 54cm Black Diamond base (filter) to host my powerblock)

The Furutech offers a grounding post, so I tried the active Telos GNR II as grounding device. The effect was clear and positive. So I will try now some more grounding devices to identify the best solution on this vital grounding point. Next one with be CAD GC 1 & GC3.

Now I am going to enjoy some more music :)

Audio Replas, another well known Japanese brand makes similar products.
Similar quality but cheaper prices.

Same chassis but diff sockets : this RWC-2RU socket is not plated with rhodium but Ruthenium. The sonic character is much warmer and richer than Furutech NCF.

I think you meant this one. I also believe Audio Replas is the originator of the chassis.

Yes, I think Audio Replas actually does oem for Furutech.

Thank you for the Audio Replas information!

I have chosen the former Furutech non NCF Version, which is much warmer in tone as well

Shakti, you mean the Furutechs generation before the NCF came out?
You truly consider these non NCF to be warmer?

I ask because I ordered my 8 duplexes just before NCF was released and have always wondered how much I might be missing out.

As said, I had not yet the chance to compare the 6E power splitter MKI to MKII NFC version in my personal set up. So I can only can repeat, what I was told. NFC is giving a higher level of detail, but for the price, that the tonal balance get a little brighter. If the individual personal set up can work with this shift or can be adjusted in another area, NFC is a clear benefit. My Maxx3 are placed relatively free in the room, so my tonal balance is more on the lean side, always with the risk to become analytical, I decided, that I NFC might be not the best solution for me.

If I find the chance to compare, I will do. But I do not want to customize my Wilson to become a Magico :)

Last week I went to listen to 3 Furutech power "strips". The cheapest one, the cheapest NCF and the 6E NCF.Each step up, increased transparancy etc. However, the 6E NCF was the only one that turned every song into an EVENT! Holy moly, is the best way to describe what I heard. I am planning to audition it at home soon. 2 questions to all you good people: has anyone in the meantime compared the NCF version to the older one? And, this will be a challenge....describe to me how "warm" can exist without decreasing transparancy. I listened to the unit in an all tube set-up. I was warm, it was inviting.... but I REALLY liked what the pure power 6E did to the sound. It became less tubey but a lot more like truthful (Oh, my God... what did I say there?o_O;)
