FM Acoustics 711 MK 3

Not my style .

Ok. Some people who do not want to spend love to denigrate or dream, others build and enjoy ... But yes, this is not the diyaudio.com forum!

There are heaps of FMA clones for sale on the NET .
Why even bother to DIY just buy clone for 500 $ :)

The cheap clones have design mistakes and are built with cheap components, even fake, and non matched semiconductors.

Then if you spend less time in laudation FM Acoustics in WBF you can build the 711mk3 yourself ... https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/fm-acoustics-711-schematic.374710/

A friend of mine built a copy of a Dartzeel 108 with selected, well matched components of good quality and it sounds very good in his system. Best value for money I have ever seen if you do not consider his labour time!
Has he ever compared his own DIY version to the original 108? Did they sound the same?

There are "high-quality" clones of the FM amps offered at about $5000 or so. However, as for the quality of their parts and circuit that is the question....

Guys out of respect for a manufacturer who spend a lot of time and effort , cant this stupid clone discussion go on at the DIY section of WBF .

There is nothing on this subject that shows disrespect or is stupid in this discussion. The links I pointed have schematics and very interesting information on the FM711 coming from people who handled them - IMO as as interesting as the dreams of those who just listen to FMA in shows. ;)

I personally like to hear from real FMA owners / expiriencers In this thread

I also would like to hear from them - it will complement other information.

First of all its illegal to exactly copy a manufacturers schematics / design .

Did they open up an old FMA to copy cat ?
If they did it says all about their cheap character just give the manufacturer the credit they deserve

Its the same reason im not allowed to give manufacturing drawings to a cliënt in my day job only assembly drawings .

Because there is a good chance the customer would nt buy spare parts in the future but just make them themselves.
Thus destroying our business

Are you telling me you as an experienced audiophile never even heard the brand ?

The FMA 223 phonomaster with a good TT and cartridge can reproduce SQ your DCS Apex can only dream off , but will never achieve .
While costing multiple times more , talk about value lol

Do yourself a favour trade your Wilson for a FMA XS 1 and start hearing how real music sounds like.

DCS WILSON Wamm / XVX Dagostino Relentless cost multiple times more but sound completely uninvolving in comparison
I can listen to 3 songs max just out of respect then i had enough.

What i most likely will buy in due time is the FM 711 mk3 and the new 256 RC pre amp.
I m almost 100 % sure they used this one during the latest demo 3 weeks ago , which was the best i have heard FMA .
They demoed with a seperate linearizer which can be added later .
The 268 has the linearizer built in

Used at the demo see pics , there is no type number on the front .
But i think its the 256 RC with linearizer and F118 monos

No. We can build anything for our personal use, unless its possession is illegal. DIY people do it all the time.

Please read the link I supplied before wrongly speculating.

Not at all. Don't mix intellectual property with designer/manufacturer agreements. Service and repair facilities have schematics / repair manuals that are copyright - they can be shown (but should not...) but never reproduced. Some manufacturers have sent me schematics on a confidential base and surely I respected it.

Because there is a good chance the customer would nt buy spare parts in the future but just make them themselves.

Yes.

I reported my experience with FMA several times. Please search and read the forum.

This forum is open to false claims and nonsenses - no comment. But please do not say the same to Steve about his Lamm's and the new Zellaton's - he take sit more seriously ... ;)

Whats wrong with trying something out in your own system we all know its the best way of finding suitable gear .

See micro that you bought a pair of ML 3 s blindly which you couldnt sell afterwards is not exactly a good example..

Could they even drive your XLF s iow were you even able to make a fair comparison?

I explained before why I am not interested in FMA or similar brands, don't expect me to go over it.

Wrong again. Please read the forum before systematically repeating other people nonsenses. BTW, I am not the kind of audiophile who denigrates brands I do not prefer and deify my last acquisition or finding.

FM Acoustics is superb in my opinion. While it's okay to maybe use a digital device from CH Precision or Soulution, or turntable from Air Force, SME, Wilson Benesch, or even a Linn LP12, I wouldn't use any other electronics with FM Acoustics. That brand was made to perform to a high standard with the other components of the same brand. FM Acoustics is a luxury brand that performs much better than it looks, but that's just my opinion. FM Acoustics is highly recommended as a endgame type of system.
Spectacular sonics in my opinion.
