Marshall Nack: “Very occasionally a component comes in that is able to nudge the listening experience in a novel direction. The Ypsilon VPS 100 Phono Stage is one of them. The VPS 100 cons excellent performance on the objectivist criteria with the unique qualities only step-up designs bring.. As a total package, the Ypsilon VPS 100 Phono Stage offers the finest, most satisfying, analog playback I've heard to date.

“an ability to project, back, up , sideways, down, revealing aspect of LPs that had never been previously apparent…there is an immediacy to the sound, a lack of restraint and a sense of time delay having been removed when the Ypsilon is in my system”

PHONOSTAGE ALONE SOLD FOR $20K in Audiogon 2013

Includes Ypsilon MC10 AND MC07 Moving Coil Step up Transformers Price: $3300.00EA

The MC series moving coil step-up transformers are used to amplify the low level output signal from a moving coil cartridge bringing it to the appropriate level to drive a moving magnet phono preamp.

When terminated in 47k which is the standard input impedance of MM phono preamps the equivalent input impedance of each one would be: MC10 500 ohm / MC07 1K ohm

The MC series transformers are large size single C-core double coil transformers using a proprietary amorphous core material. Special winding techniques were developed in order to minimize inter-winding capacitances and maintain wide frequency response. They are optimized sonically to be as invisible as possible.

The transformers are shielded with mu-metal and are potted in 10mm thick soft iron nickel coated enclosures providing immunity to outside magnetic fields and a quiet and noise free performance. The MC transformers were developed in conjunction with the Ypsilon VPS100 phono preamp. They can be used with most moving coil cartridges
