We watched this on Netflix the other night and it had some laughs, a lot of famous people (and Craig and Monae are great), but a terrible script. The more you think about the movie the more preposterous it is. I don't want to spoil it for others, but let's just say the first hour is a waste of time.

I watched it as well and purposely did not review it for the very reasons you stated. My wife and daughter enjoyed it but it was hokey for me

I agree completely. I did enjoy the first Knives Out
 
It was an ok once watch, the first was quite better
