May as well get Apex in the future but for now I’m happy with my Mephisto. Have you A/B compared Apex to Mephisto?

Not yet, but I've arranged to listen to Mephisto v Apex next week and see what that sounds like.

Sorry for the long absence and time to reply. I'm sorry to say that I never got as far as a back to back comparison between the Mephisto and Apex- I needed the cash for something else and so decided not to tempt myself despite the efforts of my local dealer! Sorry everyone. So, I'm having to slum it with my Mephisto stereo - still sounds pretty good though IMO.
