We have one hi fi shop of the Rotel / NAD / Monitor Audio variety - nothing of interest to me. Very nice folks, however. But you know when you walk in a shop, look about, have a sales person come along and you think - “oh dear God no….”

The other shop is all about home theatre and custom installations. Not each others respective cups of tea.

Headphones are interesting - like many things I understand synergy is important.

I have a tendency to wander off the beaten path a little.

The smart money is a secondhand Chord Dave/Hugo2/M Scaler & …. whatever headphone which has the sound signature one likes. Stax are of course possible as well.

Comfort for me is primary. As is ability to play a very wide range of music genres.

But given I haven’t actually tried anything on - it’s flying blind a little.

Please let me know how you get on. Message me if you prefer - I’ve already taken this very OT.

I think grado headphones are good because they sound excellent with all types of music.stax would be the best if you listen mostly to classical music.there’s a big range of cans available so the best way is to listen to as many as you can.addicted to audio is were I bought my headphones from.
