Guys

I am currently using JBL 4350AWX with 250hz Crossover point and been using the BOULDER 500AE for the HF, and BOULDER 2060 for the LF.

However being such a high efficiency speaker I think I can probably look at some other option for the HF ,, and would like to see what recommendations can
be given for these type of speaker type. Ideally mono/mono setup. I have been thinking to use FM801A for the HF as well,, any suggestions are highly appreciated :)

There is a popular misconception out there regarding amplification requirement for very large speakers, the larger the speaker the larger the amp, in reality it is almost exactly the opposite, the JBL 4350 is a good example of this, I have a DIY 4350 and they are powered by two 200W Mcintosh amps, I am exclusively into digital and play classical only. Classical with their higher dynamics require large amount of headroom, in my case the loudest that I normally listen requires only 40W from each amp for the peaks, above that things get just too loud for comfort, mine are in a very large room with high ceilings and acoustic wall treatment, I also am of the opinion that both hi & low ends need to be powered by identical amps.
