Something tells me that this paper will get skewered by the digital cognoscente. I think there are too many assumptions being made.

Very interesting. I have never considered before the idea of 0dBFS+ peaks. Apparently it shows why the old analog needle peak meters used in bridge analogue tape recorders can be more true than the digital VUs ...
