Hi all,

I just got a new MP-110 and have aligned it. Im using a RB110 tonearm for rega planar 1
I used elvon alignment for 9" arms

Theres 2 points on the alignment protractor, A and B. A is the outside alignment and B is in the inner grooves.
for point A it aligns perfectly and if I were to move it, it would not align perfect but for point B it does not align perfect, can I get any suggestions for why it would align for point A but not for point B?

I have provided pictures

Any help is appreciated, thank you

First, we need to get one fact straight. As long as there is an overhang beyond the spindle, there are TWO null points. If the spindle to pivot distance is slightly "off" from manufacturer's specification, we get just one null point using HIS protractor. However, you still have another null point close by. You stylus will be aligned at that "non-existent" null point instead of the second one on the protractor . Does it really matter? I don't think so. Just align your cartridge at either null point on the supplied protractor. As at which one, I don't have an answer. But I do think it makes little difference.

If you know the spindle-pivot distance + offset angle of your headshell/cartridge, you can calculate where the two nnull points should be exactly. You can then draw your own protractor.

But as I said earlier, don't get too concerned. After all, nobody has ever come up with any convincing proof, other than citing numbers for distortion/tracking errors, that one alignment SOUNDS better than another.

at point a bring the needle to point length pivot spindle rega rb 110 (221,7mm), then at point b set the neddle this point , not change length only create parallelism to lines, align either with the cantilever or the system body.check point a again whether parallelism prevails from the system body .thats it have fun with your cartridge
