Stunning! On a whim years ago I bought a telescope and the first time I saw Saturn with my own eye, I have to say it kidna of fussed with my mind for awhile. Realizing what I was looking at was an image a little over an hour old, just a lot of reality and the unknown came bursting into my mind. Made me feel rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
This Saturday I start my road trip to my new home in Ky that is far enough out into the country that I can to some awesome viewing from my back yard, looking forward to it!

With an astonishingly black background !

Anyone for Hubble preamps?
How funny... yes I’ll take two if they are half as breathtaking.

Amazing from so far away. For anyone who is interested in a closer look at the planet, and understanding of its rings, I highly recommend "Saturn" from the PBS Nova series "The Planets", which centers around the images from the Cassini probe that explored the planet for years. Stunning computer graphics animations too. The 53 minute video is available on Amazon Prime, for example. It's a breathtaking documentary.
