We want to do two more demos. One with audiophile Bill's system, which is all SS into focal Maestro utopia, and one with horns universum III which are among my favorite horns and very neutral. That should give us a good perspective across different systems

Had an excellent session this afternoon with the Lampi Dac's, main reason was to do a bit of tube rolling. My favourite was the PX4 tubes from KR Audio, this is the second time I've heard this tube, first time was at Munich this year in the Der Siebener Dac.

Anyone with a Lampi Dac that can accommodate this tube then don't hesitate it's a bit of a no brainer IMO, the degree of separation around the instruments is fantastic, I'll upload some pictures in due course

No it was a single ended system. To do balanced compare we need a balanced system

Buddy, what combinations did you use? I mean recti and output tubes? I don't want to preempt if you happen to be coming up with a detailed assessment anyways....

Great work!

Cheers

I don't post here very often, but have to say: Lampi B7 with KR PX-4s and Lampi special KR diode, then add a bit of Ayon should = a very, very nice system. Nice one :) !

Hi Ked

I was thinking of getting PX 25's for GG, sounds like the PX 4's will be a better bet.

Makes sense. By the way Greg and mine were R2R GGs, and what we say might not necessarily hold true for B7 and Lite 7, as 242 and px25 are also a gain play and might end up being the best for those, so some owners should experiment

I was going to order the KR PX-4 ages ago but never got round to it. Good to hear it is going down well.
