Thanks for the offer Justin!!
I might take them if not an issue for you. I'm waiting to order those which you suggested anyhow and said that they are good ones.
On top - one pair from the sleeve today ;-)...version of ad1 and really rare...Philips 4683. Toys for boys...neverending story :)

Only just seen this.

I threw the adapters in the bin after the continuity check.

Trust me the way these ones were made they were almost impossible to fix. Don't by anything that looks like them. They are trash.

Congrats I did think about buying a pair of those but I'd be surprised if they were better than the Teslas.

My Lampi is at the menders having a serious rework. Be a while til I get it back. Mods are extensive and results should be excellent I think.

Prices on the up? Chinese supply chain problems? Or price wrong because of the holiday period?

I paid $35.

Lol

Yeah, i told Goran this morning. He thinks it must be a mistake. The 300b adapters are still with sane prices.

Can you please measure the diameter at the mid point of the WHITE section...just where it says 300b amp? Need to know exactly how "fat" it is.

I had to balance the ruler a little off centre to take the shot but it is about 4.5cm even when dead centre.

That is the measurement you wanted Norman?

Yes...thanks.

Pac hole is exactly 4.5cm...so there is a mm to spare as the diameter looks like 4.4cm. Hopefully the 300b version is the same and with its extra half cm base height...it may work without extender.

Yeah you might get away with it.

Best post if it does work for the benefit of other Pac users.

BTW my Lampi will have a beefier PS able to handle high Wattage valves like RD27AS and it should be better with Tesla AD1. 2.5v, 4V, 5V and 6.3V switch.

I certainly will make it known if it works.

Double check...my spidey sense telks me no with the multiple voltage points. Autobal is based on watts. Of course, I could be wrong.

I think I agree with you Norman in a sense. What would be the point if you have heater voltage taps that cover most triodes.

However, I haven't discussed removal of anything to do with auto-balancing as you call it. I was thinking some oddball valves would still auto-balance.

I freely admit my knowledge of electronics is fairly low. My knowledge of software is extremely high but it is no use here!

Plus we have only just started discussing what we are going to do.

What is your opinion about the Western Electric 1996 300B? They came in nice wood double boxes. a1.jpg
