I will be posting 4 videos of the SW1X DAC II Special underneath. Please listen with headphones and remember that you are listening to a recording of a room. If you were in the room you would hear layering and depth and a complete soundstage that cannot be heard on a YouTube video, but still it should give some idea of the character of the SW1x DAC II Special and it’s remarkable properties. Also keep in mind that we are running the DAC with an Oppo player as a source, a piece that is not on par with the DAC II Special. The designer of SW1X, Slawa Roschkow, claims that his CDT II and III Transports (what we would normally call a server) are leagues beyond any other source that can be hooked up to his DAC. (We will be getting one here in the coming months and will demo it for you on this thread.) Equally important is the fact that the DAC and transport are not on ideal isolation devices and the fact that the DAC was still breaking in when these videos were shot. Also keep in mind that YouTube compresses the files somewhat, so you have to read between the lines. The remote wasn’t working so I had to enter the frame. We’ve got that fixed for future videos which will include our upcoming DAC III Special and DAC V Special. Recording was done on an iPhone 6s with a Sony MV88 mic into Dolby On.The DAC II Special is $4595. Contact The Lotus Group for more info.
