I’m new here and I came to brag a little and tell you what I think of the Luxman 590AX II I just got. I’ve been in audio for 35 years now and the first system I ever had was a Marantz 2220 with Advent speakers and a pioneer turntable with a Shure 95e. I’ll never forget that system. I’ve gone through B&K, Hafler, NAD, Rotel, Dynaco, even a Mcintosh. Others that I can’t remember right this minute. I have never had a class A amp before. I do not have golden ears, but I can tell the difference from all the others l’ve had. I’ve had warm sounding amps, clean amps, bright and thin, but the Class A is clean, bright, but easy sounding. I say easy sounding rather then warm since it is not warm like tubes, but tube like. Warmth. Clean, bright with warmth.
I hope this is helpful to someone looking for an integrated but does not want to deal with tubes either. This does cause one problem, I now want to upgrade my speakers - Totem Rainmakers, to perhaps one of the Harbeths as I have heard they match up very well with Class A.
