Why did Mark Levinson discontinue the No 52 Preamplifier and the No 53 Amplifier?

I'd guess because they've been around for over 5 years and are due for a refresh, assuming Levinson plans to offer gear in that price range.
I have the 52 and I'm very happy with it.

There will always be big fans of the 'vintage' ML gear such as: REF 31(.5), 30(.5), 32, 33H, 33, 20.5, 20.6 and even their little brothers i.e. 38(S), 380(S), 27.5.

These ML units are selling super fast on the 2nd hand market and are really good value still today (well, the DAC's don't do high-rez, but for many this is not a big issue).

Even if the brand, now controlled by SAMSUNG, is phased-out one day, I guess ML electronics will always be 'Classic' like a 911 Porsche...
