There was an invite only presentation of the new 800 D4 Diamond series on the YouTube. The "official" unveiling is supposed to be on Sept 1. Does anyone know any details? ;) You can PM me if not willing to share the "embargoed" details publicly. Thanks so much!

Is the 801d4 the flagship of all there speakers?
Looks that way … but makes one wonder if the new nomenclature (replacing 800D3 with 801D4) gives room to release a new flagship 800D4 in the future … at a higher price.

(I used to have 800D2s in my theater and they were really fun, dynamic speakers)

Today few videos surfaced on Youtube with the showcase of the new series with a factory tour and presentation by a tech specialist that discussed the new engineering features (this is one:
).

Looking forward to learn about hands on impressions! The B&W 800 series (first the N and then the Diamond Gen 1) was the most popular audiophile line of speakers when I used to live in Italy and was the speakers I listened to a gazillion times, at a friend's home, in my trusted showroom and at shows. Exceptional but super current hungry speakers.
They used to be considered awesome for the quality/price ratio, despite it has to be acknowledged that prices have got a big bump up with this D4 (~30% more than the D3).
The Diamond Gen 1 used to look better IMHO.
