It is easy to blame it all on LeBron.

The real issue there is that the Jerry Buss heirs are not capable of running the team. The people they hired to run the team are incompetent - Rob Pelinka?

They hired a mediocre new head coach and just put two assistants in place that are already plotting a palace coup.

Even signing Anthony Davis won't fix those issues.

It is what it is....he doesn't have a say in where he is going. If it is havoc as you predict then I bet he will bail the following year but how can you say he'd be nuts to sign with the Lakers when he doesn't have a say. The Pels will make the best deal and frankly the Best deal now is with the Lakers as it involves the 4th pick in the first round draft as well as Ball, Ingram and the 4th pick which could involve a 3rd team

as far as Leonard remaining with the Raptors, let's not forget Doc's $50K fine for his comment about Leonard which was construed as tampering. Doc I guess doesn't have the same NBA clearance from the commish that Rich Paul has

I might have to become a Clipps fan if the dysfunction continues in the coming season :)

Christoph.....

I am really liking your daily comments here. Is basketball a favorite sport in your country
Thanks for your kind words

Basketball in my Country is quasi inexistent :(
I had to Google to find out, we have exactly ONE Team, playing in the 3rd Swiss League:

Skiing and Soccer are the most important sports in my Country. And maybe some Tennis...

I'm a long time big NBA Basketball fan.
My first heroes where the Jazz with "Stock-Alone" and Jeff "Horny" Hornacek fighting the unbeatable Bulls back in the time.

Anthony Davis should remember what happened to Kevin Love when he joined LeBron in Cleveland.

Tough to be LeBron's second banana.
Ahh so you do agree that LeBron is the cause of the dysfunction. ;)

I really enjoy your participation here

I maintain that "if" the Warriors prevail tonight and somehow find a way to win game 7 the turning point in the series was the Raptors giving up their lead as the Warriors win in the last minute. Totally demoralizing. Yet having said that the Raptors are relentless with no lead too large to overcome

I just saw this re the Rich Paul 'warning' against the Celtics to give up their assets for a 1 yr deal. And it just occurred to me that if I were Pelican's GM David Griffin, I would consider Rich Paul's threat to the Celtics as a HINDRANCE to his possible dealing with Ainge assuming that he has an offer to Ainge to get the best assets including Tatum and the rest of the bus, but Ainge says, umm, no, because Rich Paul threatened me of a definite 1 yr deal, leaving no stones open like Kawhi's case. And also I just learned from the video below, from Brian Windhorst, saying that even if AD gets traded to the Lakers, he cannot sign an extension with the Lakers for 6 months.

I agree with your assessment, Steve, but I also see the relentless nature of the Warriors, who were down 6 with 3 minutes to go. Reminds me of the Kobe Shaq Lakers vs Portland who had Sabonis and Pippen, Blazers were up like 9 with 3-4 minutes in a pivotal game to tie the series if I recall correctly, but Lakers rallied to beat the Blazers in that game and closed the series eventually. Turning point. Let's see who has the more will to win. What a Finals.

I posted a picture of Shaq after making a dunk in that game which Lakers went on to win

BTW Phil, home court advantage is still the Raptors and they have beaten the Warriors both at home and in Oakland

Right, Steve. Uphill climb for the Warriors. And funny, warriors and raptors are both fierce, in their generic meaning.:)

I thought the most amazing stat in Game 5 was the Warriors won it by making more 3's than 2's. I can't ever remember a game where that happened. It also shows how good the raptors are by hanging around and taking the lead only to lose it on a few more 3's by the splash brothers in the final minute

To me that only shows that the Warriors bench is non existent and gone cold. Where are Iggy, Cousins, Livingstone etc. If they don’t show up it will be a tough task to beat the Raptors tonight in Oakland.

Three point favorites against the Raptors is meaningless

The Raptors have proven to be formidable and viable challengers. It's really theirs to lose. Regardless, it has been a very exciting series thus far. All of us in Toronto are hoping for a favourable outcome... we know that the Warriors are toughest of challengers.

Here's to a great game tonight!

And one more thing about Rich Paul which I learned from Brian Windshorst of ESPN, Paul also handles Celtics Marcus Morris. So he scares Ainge out of the AD market, then comes back to 'deal' with Ainge for the best deal he can extract for Morris. Deja Vu to the days of JR Smith and Tristan Thompson. Paul instructed Tristan to hold out for months until the Cavs cave in, thanks to the pressure of, guess who, LeBron James. Is that really in the best interest of teams working with this Rich Paul? He has a blank check from Adam Silver to do anything he wants with his players and teams he wants to juice out. So what is Paul without James, and what is James without Paul, today?

Agree, the bench of the Warriors have to show up, with points. In the past championships I always marveled at how newbies like Patrick McCaw and Ian Clark would rise up to the occasion and even hit clutch shots in the 4th quarter. Today, Looney is gone, so they only have McKinney, Quinn Cook and Jordan Bell to , umm, answer the bell. :)
