Using the right alignment jig will be very useful considering it’s hard to see the stylus under the body.
With a 1.4 gram VDH 1s diamond and incorrect settings, you'll cause more damage than with the DST on a lp. I wouldn't worry about that.6.5 gram VTF ...![]()
The weight can cause damage, unless you assume it is perfectly aligned and grooves of LP are perfect each time. Turning into grooves at that weight with any misalignment can damage the grooves. Of course misalignment is possible with lower weight carts as well.
