I have been following their facebook page with interest. It seems like a well thought out, solid product to me. One hast to try and listen to one though to get a real idea...

I am very happy there are new tape machines coming up. Ballfinger, Metaxas&Sins, this one...

But the Thorens has the same technical base from the Ballfinger. And the same price of 12 k€. I expect it has a similar performance. Maybe the sounding and the look is different. Ballfinger is cooler with aluminium and Thorens has more classical finish.

Christophe Martinez of Analog Audio Design told me that he will be producing a model which can play 30 IPS tapes.

Looks cool. My biggest gripe is rewind. Once I play a tape I know the rewind stop.
I want to be able to enter the number, hit rewind and have it stop, start at the correct spot. I also want a library rewind.

Cool project. Sounds like he made it in his garage. 10k EUR seems very reasonable given the cost of cables and cartridges.
