Their first album is one of my favorite debuts ever. I was disappointed with the second album as I didn't like the direction they went in. The track you posted seems to be in the style of the second album. This is what I'd like them to return to, more rock focused:

Are you talking about the love/breakup album? I wasn't a fan of it either, although Patience is a much better track. And damn those bongos sound good lol. Saw him at their Coachella debut in the Outdoor Theater in like 2012 when Lonerism came out - was amazing.

I think he's got Radiohead kinda potential if he keeps growing.

Radiohead potential? Maybe, but not from the two samples above...my own take from my ears and music soul.

* We have clouds today on the island, it's cooler too...no shorts and t-shirts today.
But it's very peaceful, the type of peace to go along with . . . anything spring blossoming.

I haven’t really got into Tame Impala. But I recently learned about this local band, very young, who’s killing it.

The drummer is the singers mother. It’s easy to hear lots of influences in them. And luckily not every song sounds completely the same.

I simply can't get into their groove. I could easily get into 'Air', 'Eels' and 'Radiohead' ... and 'Yello' too, but my music chords can't simply vibrate pleasurably to the beats of 'Tame Impala'.

It's missing sophistication, composition, it sounds too mechanically simple, repetitive, ...
