Yep, one of the pairs that was on Agon and is still on Clist, USaudiomart are mine. Some lucky person will get them and if they upgrade will have reference level speakers for under $10K.

I sold my be 20 dmd's to finance a pair of dsp8000's this spring, but I would have been happy to keep them

Just upgraded my be-10 dmd to td10 bought set diamond mids and new filters. Sound is more open and detailed than the berilliums. Voices are nicer. And the old ones were already great. Not that expensive to exchange the mids.

If I needed an excuse to replace my be20dmd's it would have been their max spl. I went from the revel salon 2 that I would turn my h360 up to 75 to get rockin' and the bug ushers did play louder with less power, but didn't reward more power with more boogie. They didn't get nasty, they just seemed to settle in around 95-98 spl. I bought mine used so it might be a 1 off, but if not does the new mid beg to be whipped?

Never play that loud, found there is always one level a song sounds like it should. When i play at that level the whole house is starting to complain but theres much more in the ushers. I have an active rel sub maybe thats the extra punch you were missing. i have a difficult room bass wise.

Wow, 95+ SPL is extremely loud except for peaks every now and again. IME most speakers can't play that loud effortlessly and without significantly more distortion. I'm more of a low 80s SPL and at that volume the Ushers shine. Given a big enough treated room they cast a massive soundstage with lots of gravitas.

I had an idea it was me. The bass is visceral and I never thought about adding a sub although my room can give most speakers fits in the low end.

I got a relative small problematic room with wooden floor and beams. With my td10 i need the sub to correct it and get that ultimate sub low that makes the music complete. I guess you have concrete and a bigger cellar and be20 so less problematic. I got alot of standing waves i try to deal with. Hope to get a dedicated room in the future or a better livingroom until than; adjust, adjust, tweak and change...

Did some acoustic treatment on the walls and few basstraps. And added twin set of s812 rel’s its amazing how the soundstage improved and the setup opend up. A twin sub is amazing how much this brings you even when the mains are not that bad. The hairs on the arms are up again. Insane. After having the td10 upgrade for a while a can really state that they have more detail.

O sold my BE20Ds, they were great for the $ and even better with the GR research xover upgrade. Also, the 2 x 11" woofers exacerbate room modes and I realised after trying multiple subs (Dahlquist, M&K, Rel) that I needed serious sub power to be able to combat the Ushers. I currently have 4 subs mostly JLA which do the trick.

My room is currently a bit of a mess with dialing in speakers and subs. I'd be happy to post a pic once its cleaned up. :)
